Funny you should mention that. While he may not have invented it, Al Gore did have much to do with its development:
"During my service in the United States Congress I took the
initiative in creating the Internet."
. |
Inventing and creating sound so similar. It's understandble. A very poor choice of wording by Mr Gore. He was more of a promoter. No wonder the right
is laughing. Nobody is interested in the details above. The phrase says it all and that's what's so damaging. Just my opinion.
|
When I worked for Digigtal Equipment Corp back in the 90's we were invited to the White House Lawn to demonstrate the first Roadrunner Cable Modems
and he, Mr. Gore, was in attendance. There were several internet companies in demonstrating products, including ATT, Cox etc. Al Gore didn't have a
clue about the internet or the technology behind it was about. Also, for historical facts, the internet is a direct decedent of ARPANET, the
governments private intranet.
PS, I would not expect Al Gore, Bill Clinton or George Bush to be knowledgeable about the internet or the technology behind it.

Yes but not many would self promote their own jock strap?
That is the problem.
Baja knowledge is great, when asked for. It just gets old all of the "ME ME ME, self promotion!" |
..... then why are you here???
just wondering,
if all the posts on this board must be in response to an "asked for" then this board will be pretty meaningless, IMO |

you "post number" has remained the same despite these 4 posts. Horrors!!!! How in the world can you advance to a new level of NOMAD if your
post-number does not increase??? THAT is a real ego-buster, for sure.

Jeez, I lost my jockstrap decades ago in the wilds of the Ocote Biosphere in
Chiapas. Never forget the time I changed my pants in front of some Tzotzil men working in an amber mine. The boxers were bright red with red trim and
they almost fell down, laughing. Getting back to jockstrap humor, try descending the grade down from the Desolation Wilderness to Emerald Bay (Lake
Tahoe) on horseback. Made me question God's choice of my gender more than once.

He's great about posting about a place he been to once or sharing a map that he has plagiarized.
DK doesn't spend much time down south 3-4 trips per year usually goes to the same places(read his reports). Many of us prefer to filter our info, to
those that can be trusted not "F" it up.
I think that this is one of the few places David get to shine. He has made it so. Good for him.
The GPS points and the spelling corrections go hand in hand, all part of the shining process.

Again, in pursuit of that darn truth thing, Al Gore DID NOT lose the election to Bush, the Supreme Court intervened and stopped the recount, which has
been shown to have favored Gore. "Details" like that matter a great deal to some of us.

I guess that is part of the void that separates us, Barry. I don't ever get the chance to "deal eyeball-to-eyeball" with the likes of a Romney. That
alone goes a long way in explaining how you see the world.

I can relate to Mitt---------maybe others can too. We will see. He certainly offers the "hope & change" that I have been looking for in a leader

Please, Barry, delineate some of that "hope and change" that Mr. Romney offers that makes sense to you, that's "doable," so to speak.

Hmmm... How many times did the votes need to be recounted... ??
As many as it took to get Algore the win (like Al Frankin's election)?
The Supreme Court stopped the recounting after two times it showed that Bush won... America needed to move on.
The chad thing was just so embarassing.. like are people in Florida really that stupid (the way the media made them to be)? How insulting. I don't
think so...

That list (Agenda?) of (I am guessing here), the "left", is really alarming and scary-------but no surprise to me. It reconfirms my Conservative
inclinations, for sure, and my voting habits. No way do I want to live under the results of THOSE phylosophies!!!

Barry, that is an agenda the RIGHT would like everyone to think is the agenda of the LEFT and it has NO basis in reality---NONE
I hope you really don't believe it.
