Develop a tougher skin.

I'm not in favor of dumping posts, based on someone else's definition of "offensive". Good information can be lost.

Rather than the whole thread.

Wasn't any "good info" in that post, but I too hate to lose the whole thread,

and, drumrolllllll,
I was one who punched the "Report" button,

no, I am not a prude, far from it,
but when it spirals down to that level it just needs to go to the dumper,
or to the other league downstairs,

IMO

Well done Doug!!

Body parts described didn't seem to have anything to do with the topic... thus Doug closed that thread. Nomad is to have nothing over PG-13, and that thread had become R rated...

Every time we allow one of them to trample on one of our rights they assume more power.
Having said that it is hard for me to keep my mouth shut. for example when one ask,s what is the purpose of this visit. I have to bite my toung to keep from telling them it's none of your---------- buisness.

Truth of the matter is, John....they couldn't care less what your reason is. They just want to engage you in a short conversation to see how distracted you might be.
There are some who, if they had something illegal hidden in their car, couldn't give their birthday if it was asked for. That's what they're looking for.

First They Came for the Jews

By Pastor Martin Niemöller

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out — because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out — because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out — because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me —
and by then there was no one left to speak out for me. :light:

One reason they ask questions is to see how well you grasp and speak Ingles.
We crossed with my brother in law and his daughter a while back.
They asked Jose for his green card,
and they looked in the back seat, smiled and said "and what grade are you in school, honey?"
and Rosie smiled and said "Third grade"
Test passed, next customer......

The deleting of posts and or threads or the closing of threads often does not seem, IMHO, to be consistent around here --- but one person owns this forum so he gets to pick and choose and while one may think it does not always follow the same pattern, it is the way it is.

I thought that was an interesting thread overall---- ni modo

My apologies, I was trying to be funny, and I did use anatomically correct terms.

I guess I am a bad seed, but there was no intent of malice.

do not use the word seed. It could be taken the wrong way by the board police.

Not as funny as Babe Ruth, apparently. When asked to tell something humorous at social gatherings he would often ask someone to pull his finger and accomodate them.

Because it is Doug's prerogative, I didn't see him
seeking suggestions on how to manage this board.
Soulpatch, you might reconsider your choice of a
word in a reply to that
thread, it also MAY be offensive to some. Some don't
have the ability to craft a reply without going to
the Off Color Well, there is no DECORUM test to
post on BN
