and so it begins

http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/?index_region=ep

let's all cross our fingers for an epic hurricane season! hopefully they will swing past cabo and head north, offshore, and pump swell up the coast.... it's been a few years since we had a good hurricane season for surf.

One of those models shows it getting pretty close to where I'll be in a week from today -- Puerto Vallarta.

NOAA's long range forecast gives a 50/50 chance of El Nino developing later this summer...at the least though, the La Nina pattern is saying goodbye so we should be back to normal summer water/air temps anyway.

Gawd, we could sure use the rain of a few storms this year.

This Is Only A Dream...

A tenth of an inch of rain, all over the peninsula, every night for a month.

That said, you don't even want to know what it's like inside a category 5 hurricane. A S/S 5 can bring a sea level rise of 15 feet (low barometric pressure causing a bulge) THEN ON TOP OF THAT, forty foot waves.
