Gonzaga...outboard motor prob's
Any nomads around Gonzaga to take a look at a outboard
that needs better mechanical skills than I have ?
late '80's Nissan 40 hp,2 stroke
electric start inoperative and pull start.....only runs a few seconds,then,starting fluid,repeat.
checked alot of basic stuff....still no love !
fresh fuel,filter,strainer,etc....needs more than what I can give her ?

Try starting it in a dark/low light area with the cover off. Look for sparks. Might be a short? Bad coil?

Get in touch with Benito Fernandez-Ramirez over at Campo Punta Bufeo. There's no better mechanic in the area. If he's not available, someone at the
campo might be able to help you. Juan Pablo, Rodrigo, Miguel are all good trouble-shooters, but I have to say Benito is the best. (Don't tell him—or
his brothers—I wrote this.)
You should be able to reach him via the "Beach Communications Network".

Is Ed Wills still around at Alfonsina's... In 1999, he was helping us get an outboard running... Everyone would point him out as the master of problem
solving. When Graham Mackintosh walked the Baja coastline in the 1980's... He was such a figure that Graham called him 'The King of Gonzaga Bay'.

got "outboard ed" taking a look at.
he's busy with a bunch of stuff,but he's helping me out
with a "tutor session".
