You'd be pretty lucky to be a Mexican teacher. In the last four weeks, my two sons have had seven school days off, including the two of this week for
Dia del Maestro and the two last week for Dia de las Madres, which all of the teachers took off.
There most certainly is but one side to every story: the TRUTH. Variations of it are nothing but lies.

thanks Woody !
bajatripper - you are so right .... too many days off IMO. Makes it very hard to meet our teaching goals for the month. In compensation, I
understand there are no days off in June.
and....the teachers are responsible for putting the Mother's day celebration together - having the students learn dances, creating games that involve
the moms and organizing the event - all this is done after hours and not on paid time. So, time-wise it balances out but the kids lose out on
classroom time.

Y, a los Maestros. My Grandmother, Mother, and sister were teachers, too. The school/classroom is a microcosm of the world and the teacher is a
central figure! As a teacher I sure learned alot! like kids learn more
from what you do than what you say?! Let the Children play. Tio

Thank you. I'm enjoying my lunch in my classroom with about 20 of my nearest and dearest...well they're working on a power point presentation which
is due tomorrow as I eat my lunch.
Two and a half weeks to go before summer break. When are the schools out in Baja? We are out really early this year...hope to make it to Cabo for a
couple of weeks the end of June!
