Benefits of belonging to an older generation

There are some benefits of belonging to an older generation.

I happened to be in a gas/convenience store waiting to pay for my gas. There were four people in line. The first person was a teenager and chose to pay with a credit card. The owner of the shop asked for ID. Once finished the next guy in line got out his credit card and ID. The owner looked at the three people remaining in line and made the following statement. "The rest of you guys have some white hair. I do not need to see your ID as I know you would not try and rip me off".

WOW.....That's a sentiment from the 50's. Was the Milton Berle Show on TV in the corner?

Not sure about the white hair,
but one of my business partners sez "Watch out when they have a fish on the check"
As a Christian, I cringe when I hear that line,
sadly, it is too often correct....

I appreciate the Mexican military helping me get back up in my van. Doesn't happen at U.S. Customs.

Different cultures I guess.

The store owner was way to young to have been born in the 50's. I would guess that he was in his mid to late 30's.

He had no white hair that I could see.

I got a kick out of the fact that the owner of the station was apparently running the till. He was able to make and break rules at will. I doubt an employe would have that freedom.
