New Baja Satellite based Map & Giveaway.

Hi Nomads,

I?ve been working on a new Baja Satellite Map print for a while now. Some of you already know about it. Well, finally it?s done:bounce: You can check it out on my sites Baja Collection

This print is 24?x 41? and has major roads and some minor ones. It also has some towns and villages. It?s a great conversation piece and you can use it to relive some of you fondest trips to Baja. However, I wouldn?t use it for navigation.

To celebrate its completion I?ve decided to give away one (1) glossy version. However, you?re going to have to work for it (just a little). This is what you need to do:

Reply to this post and do the following:

  1. Write a short paragraph or two (120 words or less) describing why you love Baja so much. I know 120 words are not enough to describe your passion about Baja. However, I need to read all your replies.
  2. Provide a list of your favorite 5 prints from my site (over 30 of them exist). I?m curious to see which ones people like the most.
  3. You have until 11:59 (PST) April 15, 2005 to reply.
  4. Only the first thirty (30) replies will be reviewed.

This is open to all Nomads who are registered at www.bajanomad.com. No anonymous replies will be reviewed.

Only one (1) entry per user.

Edited replies will not be reviewed. You have one shot. So make it count!

I will then review the replies and pick the winner. I know, this is very subjective, but it will keep things simple.

I will post the winners login name. It will be up to the winner to contact me with their postal information. I will even pay for the shipping to a US destination. Sorry, no international shipping.

If any of you should decide to purchase a print, use the following discount code (good until April 22, 2005) for a 10% discount: nomads

I look forward to all your replies.

Thanks

Wow thanks Sat Man! I guess I'll start....

Why I love Baja so much:

I live in Los Angeles and traveling the short distance to Baja is like traveling to a different world. The people you meet are amazing, the food is awesome, you can drink beer just about anywhere, and wherever you go you are guaranteed to have an adventure.

Five favorite prints (in no particular order):

Isla Espiritu Santo
San Felipe
San Luis Gonzaga
Bahia Magdalena
Guadalupe Canyon

Thanks!

It\'s better down there!

from hand drawn maps to sats...

Baja then and now:

The long finger of Baja seen from outer space
From there you can tell it?s a magical place

Most roads were rough and that was OK
Enjoy a nice cold beer at the end of the day

From rocky coastline to a velvety beach
When the highway was built all were easy to reach

Camping at Coyote was my favorite spot
Just jump into the water if it got too hot

So if your looking for the real Baja today
Drive south from San Felipe to Gonzaga Bay

My favorite sat fotos are:

Bahia Magdalena
San Ignacio Lagoon
Mulege
Guerrero Negro
La Paz

Thanks,Bajagrouper

Tight Schedule

I?d better sit back in the lounger and contemplate my afternoon schedule. Hmm, should I go check the waves again? We could ride the motos south and look for shark's teeth, or take the buggy north and pick up some garden rocks. It?s not too windy to go fishing but just windy enough to fly the kite. Wow, check out that thunderstorm over the mesas- cool lightening show! Ah...it's the perfect temperature for a nap.

Why do I wear a watch in laid-back Baja? To keep track of the tides, and to squeeze as much ?living? in to each day as I can because Baja is where I feel the most alive.

Favorites:
Cabo Matapalo
Pavones
San Juanico
San Ignacio
Mag Bay

This is a closer look at the print. Please note that the quality of the actual print is much higher. I had to degrade the picture to meet the maximum file size requirements of the forum.

Good news for the 3 of you that submitted to the contest:bounce: You are all winners! I have a couple of extra heavy paper versions lying around so you all get a print.

First place gets the Glossy version of the print, Second place gets a heavy paper version, and Third place gets a heavy paper version (with a little smudge on it).

First place goes to: Bajagrouper. I like your poetry.
Second place: latitude26n. I like your schedule
Third place (but the first to response): Tim. What can I say, you live in LA.

Please U2U me your mailing address and I will mail your print. Also, email me (baja1@satprints.com) to let me know that you U2Ud me. I?m really bad at checking my U2U messages.

Thanks for participating and I hope you enjoy your prints.
