San Ysidro Border crossing

Anyone know when the new pedestrian crossing is going to open...not the one adjacent to the re-entry line into the U.S. Whatever idiot did that should be fired. It now takes twice as long to walk to downtown...it is insane!!!
I know they are working on another crossing but when????
I crossed yesterday and you couldn't even find a cab to take. Mix in the fact that the border was screwed up because the computers crashed, made for one unhappy nomad! The Sentri line was long, the rest of the pedestrians had been out there for 3 hours or more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:fire:

Even a bad day in Baja is better then a good day somewhere else!

I too crossed yesterday. From what I am told from those in Tijuana, the old pedestrian crossing will not open for years. They will be be doing construction work there for the new US to Mexico vehicle crossing.

On the taxi issue, if you walk towards the end of the line coming back into the US (don't take the bridge over to the other site) there are taxis waiting there who just dropped off pedestrians. It was quite easy as I was going to Zona Rio.
