MEMORIAL TURKEY SMOKE FOR BAJA LOU IN SAN FELIPE 11-24-12

(Posted for Teina)...

Subject: Lou Wells Memorial Turkey Smoke

Lou Wells Memorial, Turkey Smoke Potluck Party and Silent Auction

Saturday, November 24th, 2012 12:00 noon and 1:00 PM
San Felipe, Baja CA, MX
El Dorado Ranch, Los Viajeros South

Hey Neighbors and Friends,

I am sure that most of you know by now that Lou passed from this world on May 8th 2012. We held a lovely Memorial Service in New Mexico for
friends and family there and now we are planning to have a Ceremony of Remembrance in Baja as well. For 13 years, Lou and I, our family and friends,
hosted a big potluck party and turkey smoke that many of you enjoyed with us. I want to revisit that tradition and have one last big blowout in Lou’s
honor. I hope you will be able to attend and mark the passing of Baja Lou.

At 12 noon we will have a ceremony of remembrance and an opportunity for sharing your tributes about Lou. Many of you shared your stories and
pictures of Lou already, and I have compiled those into a Memory Book titled “No Bad Days”, which will be on view.

At 1:00 pm we’ll unwrap the turkeys and have our Potluck party. During the afternoon there will be a silent auction of some of Lou’s tools,
equipment and vehicles so that I can begin to clear out the lots there in Los Viajeros. Sad, but necessary, and I will appreciate your help. Lou and
I talked about what to do with all the “stuff” and with a very few exceptions this is what we decided. You know Lou had every tool for the job and
now you can also.

As usual we shall have a list of volunteers and will want to borrow all the tables and chairs we can fit in the yard. Please email my sister
Teresa at tfbbv@yahoo.com with what you would like to do to help, and what tables and chairs you have available.

We will be requiring an RSVP from all persons attending so we know how many turkeys to smoke, and what names to give to security at the entrance
to EDR. Please email me at teinamarie@gmail.com with this info.

This email can be shared with all who knew Lou and might want to come. I look forward to seeing you all.

Hugs,
Teina M B Wells

I don't think I can make it. But I will never forget the hike I had with Lou in the arroyo on that great trip we had with the other nomads, looking
for the Lost Mission..
He will be miss on next year's PRESIDENTS DAY NOMAD TRAIL RIDE.

Have fun Guys and Gals

We will help with the preparation on Friday and the consumption on Saturday. What a great way to honor our good friend Lou. I will be making a smoked
salmon stuffing.

Lou was a great guy. Unfortunately, Leidys and I will not have the means (immigration-wise nor $$$) to leave the country (and return lawfully into
the USA). I missed Lou's legendary Turkey dinners. Missing this will be a bummer as well.

Lots of people showed up with many testimonials given in honor of our friend Lou. The turkey and the assortment of fine food was great. I had a
wonderful time. Thanks to Teina and all the volunteers for a great time. I'll post some pictures when I get home next week.

It was a great tribute to Lou. I know that he was looking down on us and smiling that great smile. Teina told us that he passed in peace with grace.

Rob helped out a lot with set up the day before and we both helped out as Carvers/Servers for the chow line.

Teina and others came forward and spoke of Lou and his life.

I only got some photos of the Turkeys and food line before the crowd hit us with a line of people 100' long.

Smoking the Turkeys is the way to go, especially the "trash can" turkey, it only took an hour and a half and was very good!

Lou, we're happy to have known you my friend!
