Who wants to buy a Kayak?
Ocean Kayak, good shape, (better than me) with seat and paddle. This is a sit on top model with 2 rod holders and ample tie down space.
Started this beautiful sunny day to take my first kayak fishing trip.
Mistake #1 was probably going alone, thinking I could handle anything which may arise. Was I ever Wrong.
I launched my kayak from the beach in El Sauzal and easily paddled through the surf and on out past the kelp beds. Baited a hook, dropped the line and
opened a cervesa fria.
All good so far, beautiful day to be on the water. After about an hour, I noticed the wind picking up slightly and the water becoming slightly
choppy, I had also drifted farther south than I'd have preferred. No problem, I pulled up my line and started paddling back North
Then I saw a much larger wave coming at me than I had any reason to expect. I turned the bow into it and paddled over it, though not without being
nearly washed out of the kayak at the crest. Still no major proplem 'til I looked in front of me at a wave easily 1.5x the size of the one I had just
managed. It looked like a wall of water at least 25' high. Discretion being the better part of valor, I turned tail and ran like hell, paddling
toward shore as fast as I could. Not fast enough, before i knew it I was experiencing the thrill a surfer must feel upon catching his first wave.
It moved me toward shore at a speed which rendered the paddle useless and had I been able to keep the kayak pointed in the right direction it would
probably have deposited the kayak on the beach with me, my fishing pole, and my tackle box all safely in/on it. As it turned out, It deposited me in
the drink about 25-30 yards from the beach without the fishing gear. Thankfully, once I had the kayak safely drained and on dry sand I was able to
walk back to the surf and retreive my cooler, complete with cold beer, which I drank while drying out on the beach.
At 65 and partially disabled, I have decided that fishing from a kayak is for younger guys, or at least guys in better shape.
I'll be happy to deliver it within a reasonable distance, and for the $250 I paid for it someone else gets a good deal.

Just an after thought, as my wife lost her Nikon digital camera in Tijuana last Saturday and I can't afford to replace it, I mey consider a trade if
anyone has a quality digital to trade. The one she lost was a Nikon Coolpix 110 just to give you an idea of what she wants.
