Magoti project La Paz
I think this is self exlanitory;Subject: [rainbow2004mexico] Water Situation in effort for El Mogote
COURSES AND MEGA TOURIST DEVELOPMENTS:
If we are to believe the developers
Which all of the evidence(s) says we should not:
WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE AND PLENTY ENOUGH FOR GOLF
The developers, which plan the development on the El Mogote
Peninsula, by the name of Paradise of the Sea, have a long history now of deceptions and subterfuges.
With their beginning gambit of claiming that: the development would be self sustaining via their proposed Water Desalination Plant, which according to
their propaganda would not only supply all the water for their own projects needs, but would provide additional water for La Paz.
This was a strong and required stipulation for any approvals for that project to go ahead. Indeed the project could get no permissions without that as
this area faces it's own problems in supplying adequate water for it's private citizens and commercial business' needs. The citizens' clear
constitutional Rights to the water, before any foreign interest uses of the water, is firmly established in the
highest Laws of this Republic, i.e. its very Constitution upon which all other laws, rules and regulations are subordinate to.
Concerned Citizens have uncovered complete documentation of the details of the persistent efforts on the part of the Paradise of the Sea project to
obtain water via the National Water Commission and SAPA.. Even though several past attempts have failed. There is most certainly the likelihood that
the Paradise of the Sea developers never had any real intensions for building a Water Desalinization plant to start with, and only used that proposal
to gain key approvals for their other efforts.
Now wishing to have a four-lane highway built to their roject site, with pipelines to send the millions of liters of water per hour for all of their
projects needs. And of course the cost would be born by the citizens of this State and likely enough by the Republic via Federal funding.
The water deficit that exist for tens of thousands of citizens here will be further exacerbated and in all likelihood those now receiving sufficient
water supplies will have theirs' cut back so that a few foreigners can chase little white balls around a proposed 36 hole golf course, while the
millions of liters a day to keep it green will
also carry all of its' fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides into the surrounding landscape, killing the Mangrove Forest on El Mogote in the process.
This, of course, would also contaminate the fresh water sources which are naturally there and which supply the needs of the Mangroves and all life
forms that depend upon such water sources, and the overall ecological benefits that they provide.
For a certainty, it must also be added that the fresh water wells of El Mogote, long known about by Municipal, State and Federal planners, has been
supposedly held in reserve for times of water emergencies that we may indeed encounter due to growth, other misuses, drought, or simply other water
sources shifting and some number of current wells drying up.
And of course the planned four-lane highway for the developers project will run directly over several of those water sources, essentially capping them
and of course contaminating those with the residual wastes inherent with building highways, the inevitable expansion of that Tourists Development if
it should proceed, motor vehicle related contaminants, leaks in pipes carrying waste waters (to be built under the highway), etc.
It would most certainly appear:
(1) That the Paradise of the Sea project planners never had any real intension of building a Water Desalinization Plant to begin with and lied about
that in order to get any tentative permission(s) to build anything in the first place.
(2) That they are making every attempt possible to obtain Municipal and Federal waters, which Constitutionally belongs to the people and, until every
citizen has an adequate water supply to their homes and businesses, such is illegal according to the highest laws of this land, the Constitution of
the Republic. Indeed, the people themselves, even after their immediate needs are met, still retain the right to decide how their water will be used
and the law clearly states the native born and naturalized citizens reserve such rights above any foreign interest in the water belonging to the
people of this region and nation.
(3) That in the developers' mad race to accomplish these things that the capping of natural water supplies with a four-lane highway and potential
contamination of the existing fresh water sources there, which have always been considered a reserve for emergency needs, means nothing to them. If
they can't use it then they would deny its' use to the citizens to whom it rightly belongs. With absolutely no consideration for the affects upon the
natural environment either.
Concerned Citizens can thoroughly document all of these things with the governments' own records and the developers own plans. Where existing hard
evidence of legal violations and manipulations are not evidenced there are far more than ample scientific studies done by (totally independent of the
developers, political interests or any business associations) Professors/Research Scientists/and Investigators from our leading universities, whose
accurate studies have been done and given freely in order to protect the environment, defend the peoples rights, right the damage done by a couple of
professors (paid for by the developers) studies, which were totally faulty and damage the credibility's of their fine universities names, and too, to
compile the most complete study even done on the El Mogote Peninsula and all of it's vital contributions to this area and indeed far beyond.
Concerned Citizens would like to invite all of our fellow citizens to our Public Forums and Educational boat trips to El Mogote so that you may see
things first hand and with knowledgeable guides to explain the wonders that you will see. One such journey should be more than enough for you to
determine for yourselves that this area needs to be preserved as the Patrimony of the People and that it is an absolutely
essential ecological zone, which needs complete legal protection.
Our next Public Forums will be held April 29th - May 1st
at the Kiosko on the Malecon and the 16th of September:
7:00 - 10:00 PM Friday will be the first forum of the weekend.
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturday will feature panga and kayak trips to discover the wonders of El Mogote.
7:00 - 10:00 PM Saturday will be the second part of this Public Forum program.
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Sunday will be the second day of trips to El Mogote.
7:00 - 9:00 PM of Sunday will feature a volunteers meeting, so sign up for that.
Those who attend the Forums will have first rights for the boat trips. Sign up at the Forums to insure your first rights the following day. Donations
are much appreciated and will be used to cover the cost of the trips, and our on-going efforts.
