August: Hornby Island. Down coat. Propane heater in camper. Camping inside cabover camper at Englishman Falls, thermal underwear, hot cocoa at 2PM.
Residents think of BA in August like US residents think of Stovepipe Wells in August.
Canuck RV'ers are always first to leave Bahia Concepcion in March -- too hot.
Quebecois consider British Columbia to be the Hawaii of Canada.

Hey, we live north of the 49th, so it is often bound to be cooler 
Summers up here are certainly more moderate than they are in Baja....winters in warm climates make sense to many critters. Birds are smarter than most
of us ....many of them fly south when the north winds blow 
Cost of living is higher...so are many of the benefits 
Kamloops is semi-arid desert (we even have cactus growing here and in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan ...where we even have antelope !!! ). So
summers can be in the 90's and we look for cooler places, or at least be by water for cooling reprieves from the heat ("but it's a dry heat"  )
Another reason to go south is that you can't get good fish tacos up here....so getting a tan with that is a good winter option

They come south because there's no more room on the ground at home to throw trash. [actually, I'll bet they don't do that at home, but I lived in
Maine for a while and they had no problem doing it there]

Leaving tomorrow morning in the RV for Canada - heading up to Winnipeg so the wife can be there for Canada Day with her family. Going to take our
time heading west to Calgary, the Okanagen Valley and winding up on Vancouver Island. Head back to San Diego from there - should be about a month
long trip.

If I wasnt broke, I would likely spend late summer,falls in Alberta and the rest in Baja....BUT I am perfectly content to spend my life in Mulege....

I see only one Canadian posting here and now there are 2. It is not an either or for me. I love Canada but I also love the sun and sea which I get
only so many months to enjoy in Canada and now the other months I can love the Pacific in Baja.

Yeah, we may have to head north to Edmonton....May review the situation in a couple weeks and head back south to Montana and head to the okanagen
that way...

We are leaving for Edmonton on Tuesday and will be crossing at Couts on Thursday. Unfortunately will
have to traverse all of southern Alberta and flooding on the way. Lethbridge is really flooded in the low lying areas.
