Neighborly Insults
Recently a neighbor was talking to my hubby while the Rottie puppies were standing near him.
The neighbor looked at them and said, "Oh, they are long-nosed Rottweilers." in a critical put-down way.
Hubby didn't reply or respond, but the attitude and tone bothered him enough to mention the conversation to me.
I did some research and our pups are what are called "Roman Rottweilers", not in fashion with the dog shows or breeders of fighting dogs.
They are the more original version of the dogs that accompanied the Roman troops over the Alps in their conquest of Europe and England.
I doubt that hubby will speak to our neighbor about this, but receiving the historical background info did make him feel better about the whole
conversation.

Bite Pressure is 2500 lbs p/sq inch
IRRC (If I Recall Correctly).
Not that I would want our very sweet puppies to bite the neighbor.

Who gives a crap what your ugly, short nosed neighbors think or say. I'm sure I would like your dogs better than those people anyway!

we were chided once for not cutting off our english springer spaniel's tail. well, we got him as a gift from hubbie's best friend in England and it
is illegal to cut off the tail ( I dont know the correct term for this) unless you intend to take the dog hunting.
he was coming to Baja and the most he hunts is for lizards

I wouldn't mind your Rottie puppies as neighbors at all, but I'm sure my cat would be staring out the window at them.
I'm sure that they're better behaved than the neighbors that I have in San Diego right now.

There has to be a correlation between having puppies put down and hubby feeling he was being put down?
Please explain why hubby was ''bothered?''

People are very sensitive about their dogs, eh?
My dogs have always been Heinz 57s, they all looked goofy. Don't think I ever took offense if my neighbors commented on my dog's goofiness, perhaps my
dogs took offense? Who knows?

Wow, does it even matter? Why would you even own a dog if you were worried the pedigree was off? One last time, WOW, who are you owning the mutts for,
you or "your quality pure breds".

Couldn't Care Less
About the neighbor's attitude toward our puppies, as long as he doesn't try to hurt them.
He was insulting my husband.

Time to head over with one of these, perhaps?

DavidK and DurrelRobert; You Guys are Verry Funny
Just to recap my original post on Nomad, our Rottie puppies in Baja were given to us from a man standing outside the vet's office last year on the
sidewalk in Rosarito when hubby went in with our dying Rottweiler.
The puppies were only three weeks old and well-nourished, but we needed to bottle-fed them for a time and now they are now thriving.
