I'll bite and the answer is not worried -- yet. I rely on some kind of gov ret but have enough available funds to tide me over for a few months and replace when retro payments are made. If this crap drags out much longer than that I feel there will be a lot more to worry about for everyone, not just those relying on the gov.

I am not at all worried--------I have a 'rainy day fund' that will sustain me minimally for several years.

You might find this interesting:

Why do Liberals insist and demand that achievers pay the way for nonachievers who are to lazy to succeed, or are just failures by their own choice?

Criminals prefer unarmed victims, dictators prefer unarmed subjects.

Why do ignorant people continue their blabbering when it only proves to others how stupid they are.

Back to the original question...

This from OPM: http://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/pay-leave/furlough-...

"1. I’m a Federal retiree. Will I still receive my monthly annuity payment during a government shutdown?

A. Yes, Federal retirees under the CSRS and FERS retirement systems will still receive their scheduled annuity payments on the first business day of the month."

So...not worried.

TSP tam bien...

https://www.tsp.gov/PDF/formspubs/oc11-5.pdf

What would be the effect of a Government
shutdown on the TSP?

A Federal Government shutdown would
not affect the TSP. Neither the TSP nor the
Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board
receives annual appropriations from the
Congress. Since the TSP is not dependent
on Congressional appropriations, a Government
shutdown would not affect the TSP;
the TSP would continue to operate “business
as usual.”

Will my TSP investments be affected?
What about disbursements?

Investment activity will continue. Share
prices and account balances will continue to
be updated each business day, and loans and
withdrawals will continue to be disbursed.

I thought they took care of that. The immediate backlash was unbearable which makes me wonder why the same reaction hasn't been heard or seen for the disabled.
