It has looked like rain here since this morning. Never got above 80 on the porch.
I just hope that DavidE doesn't HAVE to start eating with chop sticks!

dont be caught with your pants down amigos...keep an eye on Octave just in case!
SATELLITE DATA INDICATE THAT THE CYCLONE HAS STRENGTHENED DURING THE
LAST SEVERAL HOURS. ALTHOUGH BANDING FEATURES HAVE BECOME BETTER
ESTABLISHED...THE OVERALL CLOUD PATTERN IS STILL A BIT
ELONGATED FROM NORTH TO SOUTH. A PARTIAL ASCAT PASS AROUND 0500 UTC
SHOWED MAXIMUM WINDS IN THE 35 TO 40 KT RANGE...AND ON THAT BASIS
THE INITIAL WIND SPEED IS INCREASED TO 40 KT...MAKING THE CYCLONE
TROPICAL STORM OCTAVE. THIS INITIAL WIND SPEED ESTIMATE IS ALSO IN
AGREEMENT WITH THE LATEST DVORAK CLASSIFICATIONS FROM TAFB AND SAB.
OCTAVE IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN A FAVORABLE ATMOSPHERIC ENVIRONMENT
AND OVER RELATIVELY WARM WATER FOR ABOUT 24 HOURS...AND SOME
ADDITIONAL STRENGTHENING IS POSSIBLE DURING THAT TIME. BEYOND 24
HOURS.

Here it comes, folks. Mulege, get your 'stuff' to high ground and stock up on water bottles, it's gonna be a wet week.
And DavidE, say howdy to Junior for me (mission accomplished).

BTW, just noticed on another page there's yet another 'invest' forming on the heels of Octave to the south and west, and 'puter models say it's gonna
follow his path a few days behind, not as strong, but still wet. Looks like BCS is going to have its' blooms for sure; let's just hope no major
damage for Mulege later this week. Y'all drive safely in the rain, and keep the black side down.

It's dry in Punta Chivato, Russ?!!!?
Don't doubt ya' but it sure as heck rained all night long in the town of Mulege!
The rain has finally stopped with the sunrise, but the dirt roads are snot-slick.
