Residente Perm slow down in La Paz

We submitted our status change from FM2 to RP August 16 at the La Paz office of INM. (Actually we're using a facilitator this time so he can check on the progress and save us the drive). The facilitator stated the office had gotten a new director the first week of August and and he was really scrutinizing the applications, asking for additional items, and would not attach his signature until he'd reviewed all your previous years files.

2 months have passed and my husband got a note that his file has received the signature of the director and he's ready for fingerprints. 2 weeks later and my file still hasn't been signed. Both applications were submitted at the same time.

The guy we're using says now there is no director at the La Paz office and the files are going to Cabo for the director's signature.

Our neighbors just got their RP cards in La Paz and after the fingerprinting step it took them another month. So if you'll be applying for your RP soon I'd anticipate at least 3 months or longer if conditions remain the same.

I got stuck with the same change of director BS in Ensenada and when I went in for fingerprints I was told "El Jefe es no aqui" come back in 3 weeks but when I checked on line two days later I was told to come in for fingerprints, which I did and 2 weeks later my RP card was ready. 46 days total from application submittal without a facilitator.

Unfortunately, in the past La Paz hasn't kept the online status of applications updated. Last year when our renewals were done the website still said "pending". We spend about $2000p on fuel for a round trip to LP and it's worth it to pay someone to keep checking at the INM office.
