I'm paying $15-$18 per pound here in the SF Bay Area. But the flavor can't compare to the ones I bought at Asuncion last year.

BAJA GREED?

Over at Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) Sonora I paid 190 pesos per kilo for giant (10-12 / pound) blues. at 13 P/ $US that works out to about $6.65US per pound and they come out of the same Sea of Cortez as the ones sold in San Felipe.

Are those prices for heads-on or heads-off shrimp? You'll lose about 25%/lb. if you buy shrimp with heads on once they're headed, but the shrimp heads make great seafood stock. The price I quoted was heads-on.:D
