Just came across this amazing story by Shari, and about her meeting Juan, as well as the colorful town of Bahia Asunción:

In April, 2006... I made Shari's first web page from photos of Bahia Asuncion she sent me, to promote the town... It seemed to work, because Nomads
began to go check the place out! http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=16453

It is great she reached out to the Nomads with her warm invitation and hospitality! We met the following year and experienced the hospitality
ourselves. The growth and success of Bahia Asuncion as a vacation destination (and home site) was all due to Shari's efforts!

yea, elsewhere she talked about taking 10 years to build. That would make start year 2004 or 2005?

Ha..I really dont know if it was a typo or I wrote it wrong...but I do suck at math and all the years sort of mesh together...it was probably around
1996 or 7 when I first came to Asuncion and started camping in San Roque then bought a little beach shack in 1998 where I began dating Juan...ah those
were the days eh!

I remember meeting you Gato in Dorita's store...you and Zac were probably some of the first gringos I ever talked to in town.

Baja.com asked me to write a story about how I found Asuncion and I enjoyed recalling how I fell so in love with the place.

It has been an amazing journey and we aint done yet!

Thanks for all your kind comments everyone...I look forward to meeting more of you and seeing our old pals when they come back to visit.

Next up....a new triple room for fishermen

a couple photos I snapped a few days ago in a groovy sunset.

We have been working on the bufadora side of the complex building rock wall, planters, planting palms and finishing the patio in front of the dolphin
room.
