I've been thinking about El Rosario . . .
. . . and looking foward to meeting, in late July, Nomads who presently are just names on my computer screen. And then I think about what we're gonna
eat.
In 1973 a couple of giggly teenie-boppers at Espinoza's provided my son Kelly and me with a stack of day-old flour tortillas, some frijoles so salty
they were inedible, and several shrimp that had been fried a few months earlier. [That's the last time I stopped off at Espinoza's.]
My son Steve and I have since eaten a couple of times at the Rosario bus station, where the food must have been okay because I don't remember it being
either very good or very bad.
But now I'm thinking about a hundred or so hungry Nomads (if we do add up to that many), all in search of sustenance in El Rosario--and this is really
not a very pleasant thought.
Got any suggestions, Antonio or DK?

Lera, I'm told that they will have food booths by the locals set up all over the village......and besides, with Nomad's everywhere I really don't see
anyone starving. Look for a small Class C towing a green 4Runner (Wa. State plates) at the RV park, I promise, you won't go hungry (or thirsty!)

About the same time I ate at Espinosas, and the food was good. I would really like to be there, but another time. Work will keep me in DC.

Baja Angel and I were in Tijuana yesterday and visited with Antonio and Lorenia a bit... They were hosting the beauty pagaent girls in Tijuana in
advance of the paegent at the Rosario festival. Mama Espinoza (actually her daughter, Roli) let Antonio use their tour van to bring all the people up
from El Rosario for this big treat in Tijuana (pagaent training, tour of the city, etc.).
Antonio tells me there are very FEW Nomads attending (so far), and so, there is still lot's of room!
The San Quintin radio station is announcing the festival, and Antonio will be on T.V. and radio in Ensenada this week discussing the event.
If you want to experience a 'real' Mexican (small town) festival, this is your opportunity!
Espinoza's is not the only restaurant in town! Even though I have always had good food there, those that have not have many other places to go.
However, for the fesival, there will be plenty of food booths Antonio assures me.
And, we always can hit up Debra for her famous spaghetti (LOL)!

Oh and David, inless I missed it you haven't answered my Q about getting a Moho to that camp spot that you posted pics. of.

Better go to Sinahi first and on Saturday we could take you out to La Bocana on the 'high road' (I described in detail before) for you to see for
yourself... It may be a bit dicey in a moho... but okay for all other 2WD rigs.
Maybe Antonio will see about grading the road along the river from the Punta Baja road? There was some deep sand and one water crossing when we were
there in May.

Audrey and I will be pulling in to the Sinahi RV park on Friday early afternoon for sure. White F250/Lance Cabover. Should have a Pacifico in hand

My wife and I were just talking last night about food for the trip. We are going to go very simple with stuff we bring down, in case the local food
situation is iffy or a mob scene. Probably just some tostada shells, tortillas, avos, salsa cruda and beans. This kind of stuff we snack on all day
when we are in Baja, no matter where. We'll just stop at the Calimax in Rosarito on Thursday night.
Probably also going to bring enough yellowtail down to feed about 10 people or so, so we will be willing to share. It will either be blackened or beer
batter fish tacos. Both are real simple on a Coleman stove.
We will likely be at La Bocana.

Well heck....I and the rest of the mates here are not able to make it, due to business that has been booked already. Big bummer for me. I was really
hoping to come on down to pig out on your food, steal from your camps, and take showers with your mat'ies!
Perhaps we can arrange a campout for Nomads, in the fall or spring. Sorry that I will not meet some of you.
What control freaks there are here. Don\'t believe that post you just read!

Thats goes for me too!  Will be heading down the second weekend in OCT for about a
month hopefully. Be in the Mulege and Loreto area camping. Just picked up a small utility trailer to put the camping gear in so we have more room in
the SUV. David I now need a Baja sticker!  Hope to see a few of you then and who
knows maybe alot!
