Haliotis Restaurant - Ensenada
We've heard about Haliotis Restaurant for years now and decided to try it last night for a birthday celebration. Only one word to describe it,
excellent! Their menu consists of 90% seafood dishes, but the steaks offered were fantastic. Between the 5 of us that went, we sampled fresh oysters
on the half shell from San Quintin, grilled lobster, filet mignon wrapped in bacon, brochette of beef cooked to perfection, calimari lightly breaded
and Pacific Abulone sauteed in garlic, wine and butter. Our child's hamburger and french fries were delivered hot to the table at the same time as we
were served warm bread and our dinner salads with fresh celantro dressing and hot clam soup. Perfect timing, as most of us with kids know that it can
be difficult for children to wait for their meal to be served. To anyone in Ensenada we would highly recommend Haliotis as a fine, four star
restaurant. They had an extensive wine list. The four of us shared pitchers of Margaritas that were very tasty. The dinners range from $9. to $35.
Fine dining, but you don't have to go all out. Most everyone there last night was dressed casual. The staff was attentive, and went out of their way
to make us feel welcome. Secure parking and ample room for big trucks like ours. Off the beaten track, on 179 Delante, east of the Gigante Market
intersection, on the North side of Delante. This will be our "special occasion" choice from now on.

Amazing, 20 years ago that was the best place in town for the price.
Glad to hear that the quality and the ambience are still there.
When you spend most of your time "down country" in Baja the Ensenada places leave a lot to be desired.
Great to know that they are still doing the job and doing it well!

Every time!
We go to Ensenada at least once or twice a month and Saturday nite at Haliotas has become our "tradition".Next time try the breaded Abulone, my fav.
The clam appetizer is also excellent! Glad you found it. If you want to see your Abulone before ordering, they will bring it live to your table for
your approval. Saludos, Sally P.S, they gave me the recipe for the cilantro dressing. It has raw egg in it, by the way.(yum!)
