we were told that Saul would make food boxes for the locals after the flood, so that was enough of a plan for me and I donated. Same theory here.

We (Rotary Mulege) has a contractor's estimate of about $3,500 to rebuild the road to the ramp. This is to do it right. We could
probably make a usable track for less. To date, the PROJECT SPECIFIC donation request has garnered a little over $1,000. Many thanks to those who have
already sent a donation. We would like to do a good job, but we are short of our goal at this point. We may make a decision to use what we have, as
far as it will go, and look to other sources later. We need to do something soon, as the "season" is starting. If you can help us we will, as
previously stated, fully account for all funds collected and report on their use. We would like to make a cut off date of November
15th.So if you want to help us in this community service project, please do so at your earliest convenience.

Mulege Boat Ramp Status
I was able to launch my 17 foot Scout CC from the Mulege boat ramp twice this week. It's only graded dirt now but usable at both tides for small boats
towed with AWD or four wheel drive. The roads to the ramp via Dog Town at the topas and Serenidad are open.
BTW the only work I've personally seen at the ramp was done by Alejandro, his boy and another teen. He's filled in the wash outs and massive dirt
holes. I'm told by locals he was also responsible for removing the major under water concrete pieces of the old ramp that were blocking launches by
using his truck and a chain.
This morning Alejandro and his teen crew were hard at work using slegde hammers to tear down the previously destroyed old concrete fish shack adjacent
to the ramp.
I don't know if Alejandro is affiliated or wroking with the Rotary group for ramp recstruction. If so, great. If not they should tag up with one
another. In any event I gave my own contribution to him for the work he has performed.
I would like to add that the fishing this week for sierra and grouper has been terrific. Yellow hootchies and small gold Rapalas are the ticket So go
get 'em. tx ws

Rotary???? haven't seen their participation at all. Alex is basically spearheading the whole deal. He has done a great job thus far! His buddy with a
front loader has been helping out a lot. The dozer is out for part repair right now that is why Alex is working with shovels at this time. The ramp
and parking areas should be twice as nice when done. I give my donations directly to Alex.............the concrete ramp is set for pour next low tide
cycle. let's hope more donations come in to complete this much needed amenity.

Alex...I've known him for a long time and he's never been what you'd call a lay-about. Always busy making a living... rentals, bartending at the
Serinadad, boat owner and fishing guide with a great conversational wit, patron of the Mesquite Bar downtown Mulege, and now it seems he's in the
construction and road repair business. A regular dynamo. Wonder what's up for later this year?
Good luck with the new boat ramp!
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

As mi compadre says in San Lucitas, "There are Mexi-CANS, and Mexi-CAN'TS". He definitely belongs in the first category.

The "Project Specific" road rebuilding donation request I made earlier only garnered $500 in actual donations before the cut-off date of November 15 I
made earlier. THE TEMPORARY ROAD REBUILDING WORK DONE SO FAR WAS SPEARHEADED AND ACCOMPLISHED BY ALEJANDRO and ANTONIO AUGIAR PENA, THE GUY WHO HAD
THE EQUIPMENT. He did the heavy work at cost for material and fuel. We gave them what money we had collected, and they got other donations, both from
Americans and local pangeros.
THESE GUYS ARE REAL HEROS de MULEGE!
ALL work on the ramp itself is being spearheaded by Alejandro. Many, as noted by some prior posts, have given him money directly.
SO... if you are here in Mulege and want to contribute, give it to Alex. If you are still "up north" and want to get it here before you come down,
send it to me by the PayPal method, and I will get it to him get it to Alex.

Thanks for the update; I'm definitely in. I sent you a U2U but if you could post your PayPal address for others too it may generate a few more
donations. I didn't see this update until just now; great news! Maybe a few pictures of the progress too will generate even more interest.

Launched my 20' CC @ 2800lbs. @ high tide no problem. Retrieved at low tide no problem with two wheel drive, no tire spin at all.
I like the slope of the ramp. Need more donations to pour that concrete though.............
