I'm interested, but would want to bring it north to a lot near Ensenada. So-
Do you know the weight? Can it be safely moved/towed - are the tires in good enough shape for a long haul?
Thanks!

A good buffing would make this unit look fantastic!

The original weight was 2900 lbs when built, but with the renovation it is less. I weighted it 4 years ago and I think it was 2500. Tongue weight was
originally 400lbs, somewhat less now. Tires are 5 years old with only 2000 miles on them. They have had sun shades on them most of the time. Spare
has zero miles. I will send you pics of the sidewalls tomorrow. I towed it 10 miles 6 months ago, no problems. If you purchase it, I will make sure
the belly pans are secure. That was the only trouble I have had...a mex3 pothole tore off a 4x4 section on the way down here.
Yes, it would be nice buffed out. Easy to do here as labor is cheaper . I have a dual head, dual action, random orbital buffer, the preferred brand,
which the name of evades me, in Colorado, which I would include, if I find it, on my next trip north.
Something I forgot to place in the ad....the horizontal cherry strips you see on the walls, with the wood projections, are channels for 12v wiring and
the projections are drilled for hid puck lights and individual toggle switches. Or a 2 1/8 LED light. I will post detailed pics of the lighting
tomorrow. This Wiring and lights are not included or installed, just the wood channels and fixtures. The curve channels are bent laminations of solid
cherry. Btw, the sliding bathroom door , the grid door, was to be backed with white rip stop nylon, which I will include. Rice paper Chinese partition
style.

It won`t let me edit the post, grrrr
The running lights need to be checked, before it goes on a long trip. I have not used them for 4 years. ( as well as the brakes.)

I've seen this one live....very nice unit.....unobtrusive in an unbuffed
state....excellent craftsmanship with those french doors providing an unusual accessibility.
Nicely done Willy....what are we going to call you without it?

@sweetwater, thanks. I will throw in my avatar for the right deal
@Whale, Lights and elec brakes tested today and work as they should. 3 of the side marker light lens are missing, but I may have spares or can order
them, if needed. Tires are Trailer Masters, radials with load rating D. The is no cracking or other signs of drying. I would trust them for a long
haul ( unless it is 105 out )
Pics of tire and light fixture added to craiglist listing.

To answer some questions asked privately...
Is storage available in the summer, if we used this on the beach..... Yes, there are 2 private storage areas on the Highway. I can also store it at
my place for the winter season, for almost free.
Would I tow it and set it up in Don Chanos place.....Yes, there or Cuesta or a lot in the Oasis or the Orchard.
Do I know of private land lot to rent?....yes, there are lots for rent south of town, above the highway, great views. Also, lots available on ice
house road, luma Azul etc.

The Airstream has gone from Colorado to Mulege, LB and back to Mulege. The Willys has been everywhere, including Asunsion.

A bit about those Airstreams....
Just thought I'd add something about these campers from personal experience.
I bought a well-kept 28' Airstream to use as a field office around 1974. Hauled it with my El Camino and an Equalizer hitch from site to site in ND
oilfields, all over Minn & Canada, to Seattle, to San Francisco, (Blood Alley at 6am!) to San Diego, to Mulege and parked it on the beach next to
my home. Kept in good shape and eventually sold to an eager Wyoming visitor, later it went back to the States. Airstreams do seem to hold their
value..I sold it for more than I paid for it.
Talk about a LOT of Airstreams making the trip to Baja. Here's a convoy of about 100 of them parked at Posada two years after the highway was built.
Good luck with your sale, willyAirstream. I sure had fun with mine...

Thanks Pompano, I have enjoyed mine for years, exploring the western states. It draws a lot of attention and is always a conversation starter.
Ged, it would make a perfect base camp for you. The french doors would let you put the KTM inside, out of sight and out of the weather.

Still for sale. I will consider all offers.
This is perfect if you want a place to stay on the river and store it for the summer. I can get you a nice lot for 50% discount for the first year at
3 places. That is a $1000 savings. No comments by you to continue lot lease.
