Near 100 in San Diego. Homes up in flames in Carlsbad. Very windy conditions. My gratitude to firefighters everywhere. They just had to abandon houses engulfed in flames. Sad for folks who are probably watching tv and seeing their homes go up.

Sad indeed. Just watching this unfold now on FOX news. So far 6 homes/structures have burned and 15,000 homes and businesses have been ordered to evacuate. There is a fire burning alongside I-5 now.

We have a few Baja friends who live in that area, plus near Escondido. Our hopes and prayers go out to them.

30 homes +/- lost in Carlsbad. Man, these firefighters are fighting a war. Tight, narrow canyons with old growth brush and houses perched right on the edges of the canyon walls. The fire is just skipping from canyon to canyon.

THIS IS THE WEATHER HERE. Not good.

No such luck DENNIS....today is supposed to be the hottest. Yesterday, when the Santa Ana's started to blow, I looked across the bay from Ensenada and could see the dust being blown almost totally obscure your location from where I was.

In the evening, when the winds shifted and started blowing in from the sea it was still very hot. I guess all the warm air blown out during the day was being blown back in.

Yeah...that place can be sweltering , but the climate is the least of their problems. The widened road has all but taken away their parking lot and it's said they may lose even more, so that will be the end.

this is how I've spent the last few days...the water temps are now over 70 so it's perfect for boogie boarding and swimming...usually impossible this time of year.

we are experiencing September weather in May! It has been in the high 80's all week with only a breeze to keep us from sweltering in San Roque. I'm likin this!

Weather here in Nopolo/Loreto couldn't be any nicer. In the 80's with nice n/e breezes. Love to keep it this way till November.
Fat chance though!!!
