Its all weather dependent for me since I'm on a bike. I had plannned to be in Mulege right now and come north for the mission trip but weather and other obligations have kept me up here on the central coast. My plan if the weather is good and the trip is on was to jump on the bike Thursday and be at Santa Ynez Friday but that big band of moisture headed straight toward Central Baja right now makes me think it is not going to happen. The satellite shot looks like a lot of moisture is headed straight for the middle of Baja and it looks like we could get more rain up here on Thurs. as well.

Guess Im sticking with BC Hotel, then - would be drier and can shower in AM, and we'll be together.

Yah, I am going to call BajaCat and suggest postponement of the MSM part. That is really a bummer, he has been planning this for months, and I wasn't real sure until recently. I will be dumb to go that far only to have it rain on us. I will email Baja Cactus and cancel our reservations... BIG BUMMER!

OKAY, I just called BajaCat and he agrees (he saw the storm front as well).

Mission Impossible, another time!

Sorry Cindi... That's the breaks in an El Niņo year! Remember Graham's second book (Journey with a Baja Burro) and how he was marooned at San Isidoro and again at San Borja because of all the rain in 1997?

What to do... well, we will be back!

Sorry to hear of the cancellation. Although I was not able to go, I was very curious to see how the trip went. Since it has been postponed, maybe the second time around I will be more free. Been there once, been dying to go back.

So, is there an "alternate trip" happening? If so, what are the details? Maybe it merits it's own thread.

Not for BajaCat or us...

The next 3 day weekend that we could stretch to a 4 day might be Memorial Day (end of May). That's when we last went to Mision Santa Maria, in 2007.

No fun camping in the rain or wet ground... I am really bummed as I was very anxious to try out my New Tacoma with its 'Active Traction Control' (A-TRAC) and that road is PERFECT for testing low range four wheel drive!

I am not sure what, if anything we will do this weekend. It is too cold for Shell Island to be fun, maybe we will go to the U.S. desert (Glamis, Moab, who knows?)?

Well, I'm sorry it's not going to happen but happy because I can tag along if postponed.

By the way besides rain and all other stuff happening, my home got burglarized last sunday . This next weekend is just not SMM time for us.

This is a trip I still want to do if it gets rescheduled, since I am retired I am pretty flexible on the timing.

We are still planning our 2 week Mulege and points south in March and I will be doing a bike trip or two after that so will still get my Baja fix.

East Tijuana :(, moving to Playas in a few months if all goes well. Somewhat an improvement.

If the trip gets re-scheduled count me in.

Gang bad weather is forcing us to CANCEL the trip to the mission, it's really a bummer because I always wanted to go there. It's going to have to re-scheduled to another time maybe for MEMORIAL DAY.I might hit the Carnaval in Ensenada and due a quick trip to San Carlos hotsprings.. so untill then Nomads thanks for your support on making this trip possible, but mother nature wins this time, Im sure the mission will be there in may, thats if the storm thosen't blow the last remaning walls down... HASTA LA VISTA, IN BAJA THAT IS...........

Looks like a real big front coming that way, huh? WOW. The desert will be so green after all this year's rain - a classic time to go down there to see it later on... April?
