Congressman Drops Effort to Award Tiger Woods Congressional Gold Medal
Tiger Woods just lost one of his sponsors -- in Congress.
California Rep. Joe Baca, an avid golfer who since 2000 has pushed legislation to award the golf superstar a Congressional Gold Medal, said Wednesday
that he is abandoning the effort.
"In light of the recent developments surrounding Tiger Woods and his family, I will not pursue legislation awarding him the Congressional Gold Medal
this session," Baca said in an e-mail statement to FoxNews.com.
Baca, a Democrat, is the chairman of the golf committee in the House -- a subset of the House Professional Sports Caucus. Though the congressman had
not earned any co-sponsors to his Woods legislation since he introduced the latest version in March.
The resolution for the Congressional Gold Medal cited Woods' numerous tournament wins, his work with the Tiger Woods Foundation and the grace with
which he conducted himself on the public stage.
"Tiger Woods has broken barriers with grace and dignity by showing that golf is a sport for all people, regardless of race, color [boorishness,
personal sins, transgressions], or creed," the resolution said. "Tiger Woods has inspired countless people of all ages, impressing upon them that
their hopes, dreams, and prayers may be achieved through hard work, persistence, education, [lying, cheating, paying people off] and good
sportsmanship." |

Regardless of this action, Joe Baca has his head up his CULO. This is what the people of California sent him to Congress to do? What a prime example
of Democrats in action.

Apologies to Nomads Who Are Sick of the Story: Tiger Woods Abandoning Golf

Last I heard he's moving to Dubai.
Stuff is dirt cheap there and a good place to start a harem.

Think he's got enough money saved up?
I'll bet his fellow competitors are distraught.

I can't even name one other golfer except Tiger Woods. Does Arnold Palmer still play? I don't care about Tiger or OJ or Michael Jackson either. I
couldn't even name one Yankee. I don't care what happens in Iraq or Afganistan. They can chase their Windmills without me now that the Soviet Union
is history. Now that was news. About a year ago I decided that the Nietzsche Cult was right. Stop watching the news. Every day since Rupert
Murdock took over American thought, I have just lost interest in all that fluff that goes on up there. Comcast buying NBC. It two years they both
join the Los Angeles times in bankrupsy.

I think he is taking time off to heal from his injuries both from the wife and the car accident. He may need plastic surgery.
surebought this may not apply to you but Comcast buying NBC will be interesting. Many in the broadcast industry think it may be a speed up to ending
over the air TV and the end of local news as it is now. With the ever increasing spread of cable and satellite and the reduction and elemination of
revenue from the networks to the local station some think the networks will go directly to cable and satellite and bypass the local station. When this
may happen is anyones guess. The other side is that the FCC is asking for station comments on combining mutliple stations on one channel. For example
KGTV and KFMB or KNSD and KUSI in San Diego may be on a single channel. This is to free up frequency spectrum to sell.

No. Because of the Punta Banda Golf Resort he is building. It's Baja related.

And being the non-judgemental fellow that you are I'm sure you also understand that's it's none of your business how I feel or what I
say about it.
Have a nice, non-judgemental evening.

What was your first clue, Sherlock?
It couldn't have been the topic header. Otherwise you wouldn't have ventured in here, right?
I'm sorry you were tricked and exposed to this.
I hope you don't go blind.

Off Topic?
Let the moderator make that decision now that the topic is posted. How is it an inconvenience to you or me to read this in the General Baja Discussion
section? Like censorship, it is our responsibility (and business) whether to open and read.....or not!

Then why has this topic remained above OFF-TOPIC gutter? Because it's golf? Why? This IS off-topic! Or do I misunderstand the board rules? Jeez I hate
golf!

Juggling that many women takes a lot of time!! He finds that his current harem leaves no time for golf!! And perhaps he needs time off to deal with
that messy divorce that is no doubt coming soon.
