Since Musk now admits he was the one to throttle the capabilities of an essential service in Ukraine, the political aspect appears to be settled.
The choice remains based on how much dependency you wish to have on the service yourself, or whether you want to search for an alternative service. I
thought also this was the whole point under discussion.

Elon Musk and his company SpaceX throttled and slowed down Starlink and Starshield satellite speeds in Ukraine, which disrupted frontline military
communications and drone operations for more than a week.
Why Musk Slowed Down Starlink
• Violation of Terms: Elon Musk stated that Ukraine violated Starlink's terms of service by using the commercial internet network "for offensive
drone strikes to kill people," according to reporting by the New York Times.
• Capping Speeds: SpaceX capped connection speeds for Ukrainian hardware operating above certain thresholds (such as fast-moving drones), rendering
some offensive and interceptor systems largely ineffective.
• Broader Tensions: The action followed friction over Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Russian diesel refineries and energy infrastructure, a
strategy criticized by U.S. political figures.
Current Status
• Service Restored: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that speeds for Starlink and Starshield were restored after more than a week
of disruptions, though local officials noted ongoing monitoring of the connection limits
Now the libs here are mad he didn't participate in killing? Okayyyy

mad that Trump abandoned our ally Ukraine and is now supporting Russia’s war machine.
With respect to ukraine situation, got no complaint if russians are killed.
Woke!
Hands off!

Way to take a stand and continue supporting Elon, amigo. Your $80/ month will be spent fighting against blue insanity. Gracias and glad you stand so
strongly with your convictions. Haha

I do think Musk is in Europe's bad graces yet again by restricting the medium speed defense drones' capabilities in Ukraine but not in Russia or
Belarus. No similar effect was noticed on the highest speed ballistic or cruise missiles launched from either Ukraine or Russia or even on the Iranian
Shahad drones. Is Musk South African, Canadian, or USofA in his allegiances?
I suspect none of the above, but to whoever gives him the greatest power at any given time. China is presently the primary manufacturer of Tesla's
global sales, so perhaps he also holds Chinese citizenship as well.

I agree there are getting to be a lot of reasons to consider another source you want to give access to of all your personal info, especially now that
he is moving into the AI realms as well. Are Besos, Pichai or Zuckerberg to be trusted any more than Musk? They all seem to be in that exclusive club
wanting to gain access to our deepest secrets and have proven to be lying to us about our protections in the past.

JD- Unfortunately, all our information is already available to those that seek it. As for Musk, he has done more for everyone than the others. His
unapologetic style aside, it's great to have him on our side as opposed to the alternatives. Cheer up.

I have a question for all of you professional satellite people. Whose satellites are Amazon Leo going to use ?? Elon's ?? They don't have their own.
So by switching from Starlink to Leo aren't you still going to depend on Elon ?? I know dumb question

Not sure how much more of a pricipled choice Amazon/Leo, (Bezos), is than Starlink, (Musk), considering what damage Bezos has done to free speach in
ruining our once great beacon of free speach, the Washington Post.
I think these oligarchs want it all, and will not settle for anything less.
As it is they have us by the short hairs, just as planned.

I see it as lesser-of-evils, but I will likely dump my Starlink and migrate toward LEO when it becomes available. Something about sending Elon money
every month does not make me happy.

In general, having a monopoly of any kind often discourages innovation and forces customers into less than optimal choices. Where I live on Cape Cod,
Comcast has a virtual monopoly as internet service provider. While both Verizon and TMobile have competing offerings, they use 5G technology, which
has very spotty adoption. Other competitors include DirecTV and DishTV, and more recently StarLink. It would be ironic to see StarLink, who have a
near monopoly in the satellite communication space, break the monopoly of Comcast and their physical cable network.
As for me, I think I'll just read a book.
