Reading Comprehension

Nowhere did I say that I don't believe in HELPING the Mexican people (or anyone else for that matter). Note that my statement referred specifically to JR's contention that all of the donations, etc. were stupid and that your responsibility is to teach them a trade. Try reading it again.

Is that what you're doing, Bruce ? Teaching them a trade ?
If you're simply giving them donations like Food, clothing, school supplies, necessities or you are hiring them to do work they already know, then you are "Stupid" by JR's Gringo standard.

I will continue to do what I have done for over twenty years and that is to donate as I see a need that I can fulfill. Every trip I make South, I take along a sizeable number of goods for donation. While that may make me "stupid" in JR's eyes, so what. I could care less what he thinks.

If you really believe that, wow, you are confused. Why do you follow this man.

Calling people "stupid," "idiots," and "Pathetic." is starting a good thread??!! Did you even read what he posted??!! Wake up!

For the really stupid, it's not about throwing your money at them, buying mass quantities of beer at the depositos, or giving them donations.
It's about teaching them a trade so they don't have to be maids and gardeners for the P-nche gringos.
But I don't expect the idiots on here to understand thoughts like this, they are too busy taking polls, drumming up support, and kissing each others katooties!
Pathetic, still!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, take note how many insults are in it... If that is how jr starts a 'good thread' we may never have peace in our time!

David I cant speak for Jr Baja but the way I interpreted his writing was that he did not point it at any one in particular and he wrote it with a if the shoe fits ware it attitude.

I did not think the shoe fit me so I did not take offense

I think unless you are an idiot, stupid or drumming up support, and kissing each others katooties!
Pathetic, still!. that You don't have anything to worry about .

I don't know any Nomads that fit in to those things, so I assume he is addressing Anon.:lol::lol:

I live in Mulege. I most likely know 95% of the people, American and Mexican, who donate time, money, goods, and educational benefits to the people who want or need it. These donations started long, long ago. They go unheralded today as they did 35 years ago. There is no need to proclaim one's giving....unless you are need of a pat on the back.

I don't Fallow any one. but Jrbaja did not say that you or I are "stupid," "idiots," and "Pathetic. did he?

I wonder why some people take Immediate offense when some posts certain words like that. I always figure they are talking about the people that fit in to that category.

I know my spelling is Pathetic. so I guess maybe I fit in but it is the truth so I am not mad about that.:lol:

I'm sorry I have to disagree with you, they are attacking but not on such a lowly way you in my estimation have gone to the lowest level. I just read another anon which one I don't know playing lowball with some of the others especialy JR. And if you see them deleted its because I reported them.

Q was, do you know anything about the situation in Mulege?
i.e. is Bruce Leech running the Telcel store as he anounced to do?
i.e. is resurface completed on M1 from Santa Rosalia to Santispac?
i.e. is the Ejido problem solved in Mulege?
i.e. is the Palican open in September?
i.e. is the jungle open everyday?
i.e. is there any construction going on in Mulege, worth to report here?
i.e. is the Serenidad open in Sept.?
i.e. is there any flooding going on @ the Mulege river right now?

And next time, post a pic from Mulege or don't post at all.

helping mexicans

jr i think you are out of line line by posting what you THINK is best for the mexican people. you live in a border town, face it , it is different there than in central baja. work is slow here in the summer and any work you, (gringo) can provide is help. teaching somebody a trade, if there is no demand for the finished product is a waste of time. i , personally think , you are a arogant -------- who is exactly who you preach against. i left this board once because of you but refused to let you chase me off, like many others. help comes in many forms, and when you need work , and there is no work, and i can give them work, at their request, for a DESCENT days wage. people need to eat and families need to be taken care of. the mexicans i have encounterd have a proud culture and would not take something for nothing. so when one of the locals comes to me and says he needs to make some money, i should send him away or teach him how to weave bamboo ? that doesnt put food on the table. good for the long term, teaching, but it doesnt put food on the table. wake up and give it up. let them deceide what they need and whats best for them, not you. last time i checked they didnt elect you as their representitive. you just self appointed yourself. to think you know whats best for sombody else is a dangerous thing. and yes i got sucked in to another negitave post, but you feel strongly about something , well anyway.
