Debra, Does this mean no more margarita runs on the quad? Hope not! See you soon and congrats on the new vehicle. Beth

The mental image of Deb with a boxed wine helmut pulled over her brow is wonderful, her foot stomping petal to metal and tongue dangling from mouth in
total concentration, her face filled with total focus and consternation, eyes squinted, hands white-knuckle gripping the steering wheel as she crosses
the finish line only to realize it's... the STARTING line. I, on the other hand, will plow head-on into the first pylon I can find just to see if I
can wring another drop out of the plastic sack!
See you guys over N.Y.

P, I have to tell you that it's MiKe H.
that supplys the bags from the wine boxes, and El Camote that turns them in to toys.....But, great idea.....as long as they are picked up along the
'race way' they could be markers....
BTW.....I think this is Mr. and Ms Camote's due date for the bambino??????

El Camote and Mermalada
It is in fact that date. Here's hoping their new addition, a tiny Charlie, will be sharing space with the rest of us in Baja soon. We were wondering
the other night, sitting with the fabled couple, of the color of Charlies hair. Naranja? Best wishes to all three of them.
Love to Charlie, and his Mum and Dad.

Runner--
Don't know if you got an earlier post (this computer keeps doing strange things). I wanted to thank you for rescuing me from slimeballism?
slimeballhood? slimballality? whatever...We seem to be on the same page, and I wish you had an AAA sign too
How many people had the chance to travel through those miles amd miles of human decency, helpfulness, and trust encountered on that miserable old
carretera?
We have truly been privileged.

Has anyone heard? Do we have a new Baja addict in the making yet? I can't wait to take little Charlie out snorkeling! What, ya figure 3wks. enough
time? Congrats. to the you both and Penny too!
P....let's not mention the key thing..... it was the only time I even took the
keys out of my 'baja sedan' let alone think of locking them up! Silly ME!!!! How stupid was that?!!!! Thank God for Jerry from Philly and his son....I almost had to take the whole back seat out of the car! What
an idiot I was!!!!!

Deb...
we heard from Wendy today. Mary Ann will send you an email. All is well.
Regarding your keys, too bad you weren't born blonde. It's be a lot easier understanding your Baja behavior!!!
Speaking of which, I printed out an 8/5x11 inch photo of us all hanging out Gecko., you, Mary Ann, Kevin, Stan, Barsam, Carly all in front of the
cabin and in the shade of the salt pine. It hangs above my desk and interferes with my productivity. To hell with responsibility, get down here for
New Years.

Well, I have never eaten Debra's dust down Hwy 1, but I have certainly eaten Mike's. Too irritating for both of us to leave at the same time and then
for Mike to be on his third drink and demanding to know "Where were you?" after he arrived hours ahead of me. At Gecko, he was pulling out of camp to
come "search for us" when we pulled in, after having driven a SAFE AND SANE speed down the peninsula! It was only later I learned his nickname was
"speed demon."

Compared to Deb...
Almost everyone is a speed demon. The exception is her husband, Don. We were caravaning from Cielito Lindo to Bahia de Los Angeles one day. Deb and
Don were in the lead vehicle with Don driving and Mary Ann and I following. I was driving, idling my time as we wound south at about half my normal
pace. By the time we stopped at Santa Ynez for lunch we were VERY behind schedule. After lunch Deb wrested the wheel from Don and we were soon back
on the asphalt. Deb drives a tad faster than Don. That was my most recent experience following her.
Now I can't wait for our race. I can't imagine what she will look like in a pith helmet. See you New Years. Bring camera!
