David K,
The plates I prepared were "Chiles Rellenos in sour cream and tomoatoe souce", Fresh Barracuda ceviche" and "Pork stew with green tomatillo sauce and refried beans" The tomatillo stew was the hotter of the dishes but it was complimented with the refried beens and tortillas.

Ahh Baja.... Where you can hear yourself think & commingling with the locals will humble you.

Where in town do you go to secure a permit to go on the islands?

I have stayed at the camping area on Ventana twice, the last time was about 4 years ago. No permits and no one checked. But for two bucks, why not get them?

The ejido office, across from the yellow store and the auto parts store/mechanic at the turnoff for the road to Gecko, San Francisquito, etc. should have them.
