Guyumas--Many Years ago.- Early 70's

Posado Hotle near San Carlos- Went in and sst down to have a Drink after a long Flight from Fresno Calif.. Found one of the most interesting Carved Scenes on a Large Wall of the Bar.
As we looked around observed a Couple setting a few feet away. Did a Double take and sure enough it was a Lady!!
The Lady was none other than the Great Lisa Minelli--In a Bar??

She told us that she was there to make a Film about the Rum Runners during the years of Probitation days in San Diego where Boats where used to Run Boose from Baja to San Diego.
There did not seem to be any thing Illegal about that Beautifull Lady in a Bar.

In La Paz many years ago, you could go into a number of Places on the Malacon, near the Public Market, Dance with many young Ladies, make arrangements for other Activities.
The Ladies would be delivered to your Hotel, picked up the following Morning.

It was very similar to the "B Girl " activities in the States.

women in cantinas, bars. night clubs...and shaving habits

You can always meet many, many exceptional females (tourists mainly, but not always) in Baja Norte and Sur cantinas and bars. I have danced with quite a few from the seventies until just last month. These popular places are legendary. I could never imagine these clubs in Baja ever turning away single gals wanting to see some local color and adventure. It just has not happened that way wherever we have been. I think perhaps the old country cantinas are somewhat different in thier approach, as the ones we have visited were almost exclusively male places...except for those of us with our wives. When in Rome, you know.

Farasha - I thought we were talking armpits.

Few weeks back there was a cute fella having a facial threading at the Indian place down the street from me. I just had to ask.:biggrin:
He said it lasted much longer than "common" waxing.

We have a waxer at home. It produces quite a few screams from time to time. Luckily we live in the country.

1975 "Lucky Lady" Watched them make it. Lots of Mexican extras dressed like mobsters. Kind of prophetic.

THREADING: done with 2 threads of yarn, which are in a certain way twisted, to get rid of unwanted hairs in face or elsewhere.
Basically the fine hairs are ripped out of their roots!!:P a painfull procedere, but common in the orient.

Jorgie - imagine now, most of the male population in the near and middle east have this threading done every 1 to 2 weeks or so, in his face, to remove the fine hairs around the eyes, temples, earlobes, it's included in the shaving service that most men have at barber shops done !!!!
I filmed it while my darling sat there for a shave, I captured every single tear he shed!! And he told me afterwards - NEVER EVER AGAIN!!

This I have never understood: why the aversion against body hair?

Out of curiosity, I tried shaving my armpits one time. It was terrible: the skin chafed to rawness for weeks until the hair grew back in to buffer it. The problem wasn't the bristle, but the lack of separation/lubrication between the skin surfaces. With that experience I came to the conclusion that underarm and crotch hair has a real purpose...

OK Larry give us the rest of the story:lol:
