Well, in Bruce's defense, Sometimes, "someone" has to tell the story. If the story isn't told, then officials won't do anything about it. About two years ago, I met a gentleman in Loreto who said he had moved to Loreto from Mulege, because "the crime problem up there was getting out of hand".
According to Adrian, this must have been an isolated case where someone feared either for his life or his belongings. I'd move too. If the 'locals' don't like it, do something about it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Simple as that isn't it????
What are the local police doing about it?

You mean you don't know??

By the wayside, clucking quietly!

Hmmm, where do Mulege gringos congregate?

You already know!

Well your all giving your opinions of yea ney but this is something that Bruce has to determine whether the article is inflammatory or not and to reply in his own words when he gets back.

Well my hopes for a GOOD NEWS PAPER IN Mulege have just vanished. This Gringo gazette style of reporting is just ridicules. Not to compare this persons Blog with the G.G because at least the G.G. puts theirs to print.

I have know Idea who this person is or what there motives are in writing a whole editorial with the obvious intent to do nothing more than to discredit me and other members of the Baja Nomad Forum. But I am honored that they think that I am worthy of this kind of attention. First of all I am here and available for an interview which is what any creditable news paper would have done before publishing that kind of trash with out any attempt to get the info from either me or the police..

First of all the Duane Curtis incident is not an Isolated one and to all of the people that bothered to come and talk to me I have shared all of the info of what is going on here. But I can assure you the person that wrote this article has made no attempt to contact me. For any info regarding any thing they have published. In my opinion that is very discrediting for there publication and I will have a lot of trouble believing anything they write frome now on..

As for making this info known not hurting my business the Mulege Spanglish news. Knows as little about my business as they do about me and or what is going on in the community here in Mulege. It is clear that they are well in touch with the official roomer mill here because the info the published came right out of a bar some where. Edith’s money exchange business has long been sold this is true but we need to sell at least 4 more property’s and then we still have business here. Making public the crime problems here dose not help me in any of these things. infact it has already cost me, but I could not with good conches sale a house or anything else here and not make the buyer aware of the problems. I need to sleep at night also

All the things I wrote about in my original post were basted on facts and first hand experience. And all Nomads are more than welcome to come and talk to me about it. I cant figure out what the Mulege Spanglish news based their out and out slander on. Or what the felt they were accomplishing buy doing so. They called them groundless rumors but never checked to se if there were grounds or not. I stand by every word.

Not nearly as good as whole pickled baby octopus. Chewy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, and a little crunch from the beak. Mmmm, mmmm.

Dennis, think, picking out a live lobster in a tank. Instead of lobster, substitute conches. Crispy, yet tender, they cooked the "tail" in a cheese sauce. Hmmmm.:P

Bruce, If you spent two hours with your attorney for Doc. Thadeus, I can't imagine what your bill is going to be for this one.

I have read all the posts by Bruce and other Nomads from the start...before any deletions.... and I have read Adrian's editorial opinion.

My two cents.

I think someone who has lived in Mulege for more than just a few years should be posting some factual information about this incident and the crime situation in and around Mulege. It would certainly be of great help in planning a Baja trip.

Where/Who are the Nomads of Mulege that can supply concrete facts and experience...without the personal agendas?

Maybe a local citizen can chime in here? What say you, Mulege? Care to get involved?...or will this remain a mini-drama on Baja Nomads?

It would also be good to hear about the final distribution of some relief goods and monies given to help flood victims. I have seen myself where Sharks has personally delivered supplies to the fire brigade of Mulege. But, it is disturbing to read of other goods and money being misused or 'held back' as Adrian refers to in another part of the Mulege newspaper.

Quote from the paper:

"Also hard to believe, is that there are people out there sitting on donations, with a variety of excuses as to why they are not putting these cash or material items into motion. One lady say's she, " just doesn't know where to give the money". Another person doesn't want to give to a certain group, for fear that not all the money or items will be used in our community. We are hearing of people with a room full of donated materials, as yet undistributed. This disturbs me." ..Adrian

..and so, like the days of our lives, the world turns...

sorry Summanus I think you can see what happens to someone that tries to talk about that stuff:(

Minnow ---
"Cooked in a cheese sauce". That sounds good. I was thinking you had to chase them around the plate with your fork. Gawd.....I cringe when I think of eating something that belongs on a fish hook.
