Two beers I will not drink are Bud and Corona... both are @!%* beers IMO

Bud Light is different than Bud and I can drink that (like my Mexican friends who made Bud Light the #1 import beer in Mexico).

Other than Corona, I think I like about all other Mexican beers I have tried, with my favorites being Pacifico and Dos Equis ... But Mexicali and Tijuana Beers are great too!

I remember old Mexicali and Tres Equis... But, that is long ago... The beer that we can buy today is what matters.

Not Mexican, BUT............

A German friend of mine gave me two bottles of Beer the other day that he pronounced as Excellent. They were Baltika, Brewed in St. Petersburg, Russia. After trying one, I have to agree. It reminds me of the Dortmunder Union I bought years ago and thought was the Best Beer I'd tasted.

He said that he buys them at one of those Discount Grocers who buy up odds and ends so availability varies, but whenever it is in stock it goes immediately.

My overall favorite beer is actually a Japanese beer. I love Sapphoro.

Damn, did we actually win WWII?

At the risk of taking this thread too far afield....

The mention of Russian beer reminds me of one of my favorite Pilsners.

Pilsner Urquell.....Chekoslavakian (I'm sure I misspelled it)

Primo beer. Available at Bev & More, and some supers in SoCal

Superior is really good, too... Very much like Victoria if I recall correctly.

It has been a long while since I've seen Superior. My recollection of its high quality are limited to, "Cold and wet."

Superior is still out there..........somewhere. Been ages since I had one.

The Cerveza Moctezuma site still lists it. Looks to be mostly a mainland beer.

Hook ---

Thanks for the link. Got a kick out of the graphics. A panoramic picture of all these neat Mexican beers and in the middle is a picture of Coors Lite.

Oh yeah....... It says if I drink Superior Beer, I can live my fantasies. Too cool.

I had Superior for the first time last winter in the Yucatan. I was surprised how good it was.

Anyone remember the Carta Blanca quitapones ? That was a pretty good beer . Neat little indentation on the bottom of every bottle to open the next with . I remember my dad would stop at the deposito on the way out of Ensenada and buy several cases . $2.35/ case /24 =< 10cents ea. and no deposit.

Dennis , tried the carta blanca light . It's a little too much like American beers to satisfy my mexican thirst . Kind of reminds me of Miller.

Last time I asked for the regular , I was told no mas . Evidently that's not so . Have you seen it in stores?
