It certainly wouldn't be my choice. Look out for the bus loads that stop on weekends. You could rent a condo in the Calafia towers that are right next door to the hotel--but a world away in terms of amenities.

One word of caution about getting there. The road is being widened to 4 lanes, and they are re-striping here and there to indicate where you are supposed to drive. However, the area getting into Calafia is like something out of a nightmare. Until you are almost beside Calafia towers, the road is 4 lanes wide. There is one small sign that indicates two way traffic will begin. They have converted a strip of road about a football field in length to two lane so cars coming out of Calafia can get to the other side of the (what appears to be 4 lane) road and go northbound. If you miss the small sign (because you are beside a big truck maybe), you'll be rather surprised to see a car coming right at you. There have been 3 head-on collisions there. Yesterday when we drove past, they seemed to be attempting to put some cones out to cause the south bound traffic to get to the right.

By next weekend, all may be well--but it's also possible that by next weekend there will be no cones and no sign and the traffic will just come at you.

Anyway, be aware and be careful.

The views are great, the beer is cold, the mixed drinks are made better with tipping to bartender and did I mention the beer was cold. A party is a party and let the good times roll, I have slept on floors after parties in the past (not my preferred choice). Just B.S.ing with friends and watching others get into trouble with family members or friends is just too much fun at parties, besides it is always good entertainment. It's always better to have someone else getting scolded instead of you due to popping too many (is there really such a thing of too many at a party?). You will enjoy yourself and all of the other issues will be overlooked or forgotten. Later----- bajafun777

I think we will all have a blast at Calafia no matter what!!! Tried to call and at least change our room to oceanfront but I could not get through...the line would ring busy. I actually checked 6 other numbers in Rosarito and the same thing happened! I wonder if there is something wrong with the phone lines down south. I have called before and never had a problem getting through.:(

We have decided to stay at Calafia. it seems like everyone else is taking a chance so we will too! I tried to get an ocean view room but the only things available are the garden room.
I will post a trip review when we return!
