There is nothing boiling inside me, except leadership...
I am only trying to keep people like Gull from suppressing the best thing to help Baja climb out of the corruption economy. I have no hard feelings for anyone except criminals.

Danger and Fear keeps people from getting involved in correcting this bad situation in Baja border area. We need not think that business owners can change this situation nor should they be held to do so, as these animals involved in these crimes would just go after them and blow-up their businesses. If these low life criminals have the "No Fear Attitude" and go after police and even army officers, not just at their work areas but in their own homes, nothing is safe. Mexico has to get special law enforcement/military ops to hunt them down and rid the world of these low life killers. Seek and destroy is the only thing left to deal with low life criminals that have no care, feelings for those they are subjecting to torture and then killing them in horrible ways. These type of things make people mad, especially Americans that expect to have communities capable of having safe areas for its people. Keep the focus on the real pieces of chit that are causing this shame and pain to Baja. Mexico's President has the right idea in cutting no quarter and seeks to destroy this cancer in his country. Americans going to Baja Norte and then trying to Change it to their "Way of Life" has failed in many other Places.

It is the People of Baja Norte who will bring about Change! As they have been doing for many years,
It would Appear that it is starting to Happen, If the words of the Media has any truth whatsoever on its Pages.

Baja and California have forever been intertwined, connected by culture, families, economy and interdependent interests. It is false to suggest that the people who live and visit here, where ever they are from are not part of its' problems and solutions.

Fact: Shootouts between military and drug safe houses included multiracial multinational combatants.

Fact: Victims of crime include multiracial multinational background.

Fact: Baja has forever been multiracial and multinational.

Divisive speech and blaming one nationality over another for problems and solutions is wrong, has no place here, and is offensive to all.

Things need fixing everywhere in the world.

Do you mean bring Baja into the modern world like Southern California, where murders stack up daily? Get a grip on some reality.

Of course 'Bus would agrees with overheated condemnation of Baja. There is a lot of American righteousness boiling over in those pots.

If given a choice, I don't think the people of Baja really would want you there, Al. If it helps you think you are wanted in some part of the world, continue in your beliefs.

Attacking Sally for her opinions? Par for the course for some.

Skeet and Bajafun, I agree with you.

Once again, the ones who get hurt the most are the poorest and least able to respond - the increasing number of unemployed local citizens. I guess that gives some a measure of pride.

Hugo Torres was just on KNSD 7/39 for about 1 minute, talked about lobster, real estate, museums, spring break. Reporter only slightly touched the controversy on safety and Torres said it is safe and things are going to change. Some images were shown, of course the pier, a beach shot and a sculpture.

That's unfortunate that he and the reporter white-washed the situation.

Like anyone in SD doesnt already know about lobsters, beaches and RE in the area............

It's safe AND things are going to change? Which is it?

Rosarito was getting some bad press on KNX1070 in LA yesterday. That's reaching millions of people in SoCal.

It didn't make me proud to be an American, but I was glad to hear it. Maybe it's too late for your place, but just maybe other business people and the govt. in other locations will take note and get a handle on things BEFORE they spiral out of control.

We've been saying for years Rosarito was crap, way before it hit rock bottom. I would have moved out a long time ago. This is good reminder to us all to watch closely the goings on of your local govt. and police.

Sally you are wrong...I only have good will for most. I do not do well when people won't face facts. I understand most of you Baja Norte people are trying to calm this down, some happy with corruption...some hoping their property values won't go down, some are afraid, some are tired of hearing it...I know I am. Opportunities do not come along often. Now is the time to raise you voices and help Baja. In the long run it will work miracles for you and Baja...
If I didn't care, I would not be wasting my time...there is a better tomorrow, it is just around the corner, unless you listen to Gull and quit today.

maybe Al you're hurting su hija's business down there, has El Fuerte opened a real estate office yet?

this "bad press" will hurt at first, but its best in the long run to rectify the situation

No one is saying that living in Southern California is crime free. But...There's a big difference between a murder committed by a single criminal, most of which revolve around family or intimate relationships, and a murder that is organized and planned by groups that are either the actual police, have been historically protected by the police, or lead people to believe they are the police when they pull them over. That means the rule of law in a region has dissolved and no one is safe or trustworthy. When commando squads feel they can take out entire police stations without fear of reprisal, and have succeeded in assassinating police, that is a breakdown of the rule of law. Especially when they are not caught and tried. Many years ago, I was mugged in Ensenada. I was stupidly walking back to my hotel in the dark after the disco closed. I still remember how useless and rude the cops were. But I don't put that in the same category of being pulled over by someone you think is the police, and then terrorized, while on a supposedly fun vacation. That is what is scaring people and keeping them away. It does not mean people are down on Mexico. They just want to feel safe. Also, fyi, when an Associated Press story like that goes out on the wire, it will get picked up by a lot of newspapers that can run it, but they choose how and when they will run it. So you might still find it popping up in various papers. I have done stories including one on visting Rosarito that didn't run for months afterward and suddenly appeared in a paper somewhere.

If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. Henry David Thoreau

This whole thing reminds me of that scene in the Godfather where Michael is in Cuba getting a tour of the local scenery and suddenly decides not to invest with Moe Green.
The realtor lady only wants to preserve her and her clients way of life. Torres wants to do the same with his constituency. Nobody really cares about the working stiff. It's all about real estate. Gringo's can't do $#!t about it. Realtor lady is only getting involved becuase she's allowed to. If she crosses the line, her FMT will be challenged. Skeet's right (gawd I hate saying that!) again...the locals have to lead the charge.

More lanes at the border....that's a hoot!!

Whoa there, Cowboy - pull back on those reins!

Excluding TJ- How many Blacks reside in Baja???

I am sure if you look in the "Right Place"-{Not Berkerley} you might find some very interesting Information, then Check with an Ole Timer who knows the Facts of History which have been Changed many times by the so-called College Professors.
