45lb fish on 12lb line?

That's really tough on the fish. And I'm told it really affects the flavor of the meat.

Fishing for tuna with 12 lb. line? Great, if you're the only person onboard fishing.:D

Party boats I've been on wouldn't allow trolling with only 12#. They would have you use one of their rods usually spooled with 40-50#.

Nice catch though!

Agree to that. On your own boat, no problem. On 1.5 day....not cool. Your a better man than me Gadget, and you shared your bluefin.....way cool. Mucho respecto.

Fishbuck, I want to fish July 5, Saturday (San Quintin/El Socorro). Redeye trip for me, coming from Bay area for the weekend. I'm really jonesing to fish....even just for a day, back to work Monday. If your down, let me know. If the wind's blowing..... pacifcos con mis amigos Viernes y Sabado.

Hey Mike-aka-fishbuck

Enjoyed having breakfast with you and Jaime....Had a ball listening to the two of you plot your attack on the pens....Sorry! You don't stand a chance 'cause she has already made arrangements for a USMC chopper to take her 'fishing'..............I even had a bunch of T-shirts made up to celebrate the event...Just to be real nice I had one reserved for you with "FishBuck" above the chopper.

Not being a fisherman...but only a fisher of men...I did some research and one of those pen guys went for $165,000 at the market in Japan......not peanuts at all.

Hey! You do remember the gal that caught the grander off Australia.....13 feet tall, ten feet around, and 1102 lbs....this by a 130 lb little lady. Yep! Jaime is her name.

She told me that she would be on the board soon with the results of her attack on the pens.

It figures Jaime's plan would out do my plan. Ofcourse she has more to offer the US Marines than I do. ;D
