"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political , economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of it's powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State." - Joseph Goebbels ...

Thanks for the correction. When I went home, I remembered it was Goebbels and not Hitler---

Another "fulano" with a predisposition

http://www.frontera.info/EdicionEnLinea/Notas/Noticias/12072...

"State deputy Carlos Barboza said today that the work of the State Ministry of Public Security has not been successful because the people who are in charge of the Tijuana Public Security Secretariat are not capable.

In a meeting with el Grupo Tijuana, the deputy pointed out that Jesus Alberto Capella Ibarra, secretary of Municipal Public Security, is a public relations professional who does not have the ability to establish a strategy or provide security in Tijuana.

He also added that Mayor Jorge Ramos Hernandez erred in appointing him."

I like this part:

"Capella, a chubby, soft-spoken 36-year-old with no police training, is at the center of the storm. He moves around the city in a six-car convoy with 20 bodyguards. He can’t even stop at a taco stand without scaring off customers who fear gunmen will drive up and blast away."

If you dislike Mexico that much. Why do you keep posting on Mexico sites. Does it make you feel better. Don't tell me you really like Mexico and are trying to improve it.

I really like Mexico and I am trying to improve it.

p.s. I also have relatives who are Mexican and live in Mexico and who like Mexico and would like to see it improve.

p.p.s. I you dislike me, why don't you just ignore me? Does it make you feel better to tell me to shut up?

p.p.p.s. This is the only Mexico site I post on. All the other "fulano's" you see on other Mexican sites are other fulano's.

You are so ful of it. How do you know about the other Mexico sites and other ful's. I am not quite sure whether people as unhappy as you should be ignored or not.

From the LA Times article; "Capella, a chubby, soft-spoken 36-year-old with no police training, is at the center of the storm. He moves around the city in a six-car convoy with 20 bodyguards. He can’t even stop at a taco stand without scaring off customers who fear gunmen will drive up and blast away."
Full-ano just goes on hear-say because it's just an article on the paper and not a first hand report of a Nomad. This sayed and as a first hand report form a Nomad (me) we know that Capella does stop at taco stands and even 2 nights ago he was along with myself and my 2 girls and also about 1000 other Tijuana residents sitting on a table at Parque Teniente Guerrero from about 9:30 to 1AM and had no body guards. at the same table was mayor Jorge Ramos and other people. Not one person was afraid to aproach them and as oposed to other high profile people that have guards arround them, these gentelmen had none close, they were accesible to anyone. As for chubby and soft spoken I can name several on this board that fit the same description, myself included. This is a first hand report from a Nomad not a full ano report
Edited to write ano, by mistake I had writen anus.

Let's take it by the numbers, Ferna:

1) November 27, 2007 - 20 gunmen opened fire on the house of the chairman of the Citizen Council on Public Security (Consejo Ciudadano de Seguridad Pública) in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The police took half-an-hour to respond, according to the report, despite the fact that Capella Ibarra’s house is located very close to the local police station.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xbQRCpejkk

2) December 1, 2007 - Capella Ibarra takes office as city’s secretary for public security

3) January 4, 2008 - President Claderon sends 3,300 federal troops and police to TJ.

3) April 28, 2008 - ABC news interview with Capella in TJ. Note all the hearsay bodyguards around him photographed by the news crew.
http://tinyurl.com/6fumx9
(Watch the other 2 videos on the same link)

4) July 13, 2008 - Interview @juarez.com with Capella :

http://www.arrobajuarez.com/notas.php?IDNOTA=7513&IDSECC...

Cuando usted le dice mentiras como ésta, es lo mismo que decir que los estadounidenses son estúpidos. No hace pendejo Ferna, si quieres jugar asi, mejor metelo en el ano.

IF I was morose (gloomily or sullenly ill-humored, as a person or mood.) then given your track record that really doesn't say much for you does it? Get a life Ful. You are way to unhappy a person. Viva Mexico.

I was just saying it as Alberto Capella sees it (published July 13, 2008):

http://tinyurl.com/6gc8ua

"Cómo es un día habitual, suyo. Cómo vive un funcionario con precio en la cabeza

[Capella] Pues no, es que… traer la cantidad de escoltas que trae uno es prácticamente perder tu vida privada, es estar dedicados 24 horas a un tema, con bastantes problemas, con múltiples enemigos por todos lados y obviamente se requiere una conciencia personal, un valor personal y meterle un sentido de pasión a esto, sino sería una locura."

[Translation:]
How is your usual day? How does an official live with a price on his head?

[Capella] Well, no, that is… having so many bodyguards one practically loses his private life, to be dedicated 24 hours a day to one issue, with so many problems, with multiple enemies everywhere, this obviously requires a self-awareness, a personal set of values and a sense of passion for this, without which it would be madness.

Now, Ferna, here is a good op-ed piece from today's "El Sol de Tijuana" that covers the basic issues succinctly. When you read it, try to notice how the writer's points line up so neatly with what I have been saying.

http://www.oem.com.mx/elsoldetijuana/notas/n769328.htm

...and do try to remember that the writer is a Mexican who lives in Tijuana. It sure is interesting to read what somebody who doesn't get his paychecks from the tourist trade has to say.
