I'm your smack crack daddy!

Besides the great advice that abounds here, I'm mostly looking for something to laugh at/with.

I hate those beso-burro responses about;

being safe
don't eat any lettuce in the street food
I won't go to baja anymore (i'm scared)
don't drink and drive
etc.

Is this smack?

There is nothing wrong with a little friendly banter now and then. But sometines people get their feelings hurt and then it turns unfriendly.
Keep it light and friendly. And try not to take yourself, Baja and the world to seriuosly. I think we'll all be a little happier that way.

Let's see, was in Cabo San Jose last May for Conference. Flew in to SJD from Phoenix on Sunday 5/18 (which was my birthday), celebrated that night then spent next three days in meetings and socializing with business associates. Had dinner on beach, took boat trip in Cabo San Lucas, spent night partying at Cabo Wabo (not my favorite place, but okay). On Thursday after conference ended, transferred down to San Lucas for a couple of days of R&R and visiting with friends. Flew back to Phoenix on that Saturday. Am returning 7/24 for week's vacation. There you have it, I have posted my trip report. Now I'm legal too.....:lol::lol::lol:

I think what Zac is saying, you want to talk the talk... but FIRST you should WALK THE WALK!

The trip reports are what brings us the latest on peninsula conditions and attractions from Nomads... not news reports, not hear-say.

Unless you make financial contributions to Doug, the way to 'pay your dues' here is to SHARE what you experience... it costs nothing and yet gives so much!

Go to Baja... take notes, take photos, tell us (your Baja Nomad brothers) about your trip. That is sharing!:biggrin:

Hey David,
How about a 10 page report complete with pictures on your next oil change on your precious little toyota. Please include an in depth interview with the guy doing the oil change and any info he has on his most recent trips to Baja.
Lets see if you can also get us pics and a narrative on your drive to the garage and any adventures you had on the way there. Thats just what this board needs. More riveting trip reports...

Thats Baja baby....:lol::cool:

Bruce,

I do not know how to sugarcoat anything. You and I both know what is really going on down here. Walk the walk, give me a break. When I read some of these posts , I just shake my head....:cool:

Yes, lets do talk about head shaking at posts...go back and look at Palmetos posts...do they all contribute pertinent information to this community board? or do they serve to insult it's members? Many of us tune in here to receive up to date, useful info on baja that helps us plan a trip or live happily here...we appreciate warnings of bad weather, road conditions, and yes...crime problems...but without the insulting comments attached...please, do us a favor here and consider altering your board behavior...leave your personal attacks out of the posts.

EXACTLY! I wish I said that. Information is nice ~ Ranting is boring
I think many Nomads are not visiting as much as before. I don't. Just look at the list of things to checkout in "Today's Posts". I get discouraged just reading the list. Although I do admit to ranting from time to time (like now) about local issues. Hope some of it is helpful. I just wish we could lighten up a bit. I really like to read all the posts but after a few that become really negative I'm just worn out and a bit depressed until I realize there are just a few that really but a damper on things on a regular basis . Then I look out the window and come back to reality of my home here. I LOVE it here!

Negative rant for the day---With that darn hurricane, Fausto, it is really HOT here and the ocean is wild. Hot, hot, hot!!!! :yes::yes::yes:

Diver, I would tell you to be glad you are not here, but that could be construed as a negative personal attack. :lol::lol:

Actually, the ocean is quite a sight---not good for the fishermen, but fun to watch.

Leaving in the morning. So it will be a few days before I see if any of my photos came out.

On our side of the point, the waves were bigger, but not that much bigger, but on the other side of the point, the town side, they were spectacular! Really wild.

Several crazy older kids in the water, but the pangas were beached.

Sorry, Zac, it is a bit of a highjack. :saint:

Lets talk about the big waves smacking the bluff!!! It's awesome...although one of the sargasso pangas they left at anchor no believing the swell was gonna get bigger...sunk and washed ashore...that will teach them to be lazy and not beach when everyone else does! I could't believe the panga was still out there in the huge waves and figured it wouldnt' last long. Raymundo who is parked by these palm trees kept waking up last night and going outside to check on the swell as he thought the waves were gonna wash his camper away!!!Look forward to your photos dianne

Sheri, Ray is down with you, Tell him I said hi...I thought Ray parked in a place known as "Hawaii" while your place was known as "Alaska" locally!
My best to your close and very extended families... and for the delicious photos. The fishing competition with the hanging yellowtails, was to drool at.

Who made you the keeper of the board. Doug decides and has edited this board and you do not.
there are those of us who do not like all the clutter and useless filler that is posted here but we do not try to stop it.
How about all the posters that promote their business on the site while pretending to add content to the board. These folks have the links to the business endeaver at the bottom of their message and never forget to mention the paid tour, rental on the beach, paid off road tour book for sale etc. Why not pay Doug for an ad so we do not have to listen to this shameless self promotion..

This is what you should be complaining about, Not free speech.
Whats the room rate this week and how is the weather over there Sherriamore..:cool:
