Bajaboy and fishbuck are right, there is plenty of gasoline, at least here in Tijuana. I've seen no shortage.
I'm not quoting a newspaper, it's real, I live here.

I go through TJ to and from San Diego at least weekly and always buy gas in playas, it's a quick detour and there's a modern plaza for other shopping and ATMs for pesos, and I usually drive right up to the pump, sometimes there's one or two cars ahead of me, and fill the tank. No problems so far.

Yes, FDT, shame on you.:lol:

We just drove back and saw no problems with gas and we also saw some tankers in Encenada.

But then again, we did not inspect every gas station, nor did we inspect those tankers---they could have been empty.:yes:

You need to tell El Sol de Tijuana to stop printing those lies.

http://www.oem.com.mx/elsoldetijuana/notas/n783536.htm

"Exigen a gritos que se resuelva el abasto

Playas de Rosarito.- Con pancartas en alto y al grito de "Dame más gasolina", un centenar de despachadores se manifestó a las afueras de la planta de Pemex de la colonia Reforma en esta ciudad, para exigir que se normalice el abasto del combustible, toda vez que la escasez trastornó ya el funcionamiento de gasolineras de todo el estado."

Playas de Rosarito .- With banners held high and the cry of "Give me more gasoline", a hundred gas station workers protested on the outskirts of the Pemex plant Pemex at Colonia Reforma in this city, to demand that the supply of fuel be normalized, whenever shortages disrupt the operation of gas stations around the state. Like many here on BN, I read the news in addition to listening to the personal accounts of others living here and balance it all out with my own experience living here in Baja. Just because it is in the news doesn't mean that it is true or currently accurate. Most journalists today prefer to get their stories off the wire services or just reprints of other articles online. Little time seems to be spent in the field doing actual and updated reporting. I am beginning to believe that journalists just keep cycling the same news stories around and around and often the story is either wrong or old. Balancing real life with the news is not living with your head in the sand, it is just common sense. Most folks here seem to get it.

I just came back from Rosarito and checked out four gas stations:

1. Pemex South on Popotla Blvd.
2. Pemex AM/PM South
3. Pemex AM/PM across from McDonalds
4. Pemex North across from Calimax

All four were open, pumping gas, and no lines of folks "fighting" or "dodging bullets" to get gas. Here are the photos taken less than an hour ago. Since I have my head in the sand I must be missing something...

Ok full, now you want me to tell the paper what to write? Anything else? I already fixed my events page on the web site. I hope you like it. I aim to please. :P

I give full marks for fixing your page. No one was trying to pick on you . As for the fuel shortages, they are sporatic but they are happening because of cross border shopping by the americans. The Mexicans did not and could not anticipate the spike...

I go by the Pemex on Agua Caliente near the Grand Hotel TJ several times a week - no lines, plenty of gas . . .

Does anyone besides fulano believe or have experienced a fuel shortage in Baja?
Anyone?

This is why the posts from the newcomers carry more weight. The jaded members let their agenda block common sense posts which contain real important info....

Your insulting jibberish is getting old and is not at all helpful and informative.
Can you come back later when you actually know something? If ever?

Does anyone here believe that a poll of the beliefs or experiences of the 50-odd people who post here has any relevance to the actual fuel supply in Baja -- from TJ to Cabo?

Come on, let's see a show of hands.

Ya know fishbuck, I'll bet if we believe -- I mean if we really truly beleive -- we can save Tinkerbell and she can fly again.

Who's we, Palmeto99? Would that be you and Fulano? Until recently I would have thrown in memo too, but he has been pretty scarce lately.

Yes, in 1999 but that's another story that involves cute girls, moonshine, and real gas shortages. Hey Buck, I'll share that one with you next time we hook up on some big yellowtails.

If only Fulano would have a hot air shortage....he's reading his way around Baja on the Internet while some of us are experiencing it.

Some of us believe the people that are in Baja a lot more than the "It's a crisis" newspapers that are only trying to sell more papers.
