If it were lush and rich, one could understand the pull, but it is fierce and hostile and sullen. The stone mountains pile up to the sky and there is little fresh water. But we know we must go back if we live, and we don't know why." - Steinbeck,

Great timing my man:biggrin:

Once had the occasion to stay in a local hotel with my daughter, then 7 years old. Christmas time and when we returned to our car, the trunk lid had been popped and all of our Christmas presents were stolen. I was livid, she turned to me and said "they can't take our good time away from us!", she was right.......there are wonderful people and great writers and photographers on this board......and some very congenial people.

You have a very intelligent daughter, Iflyfish.

I had a similar experience with Alex when he was about 7. Someone had pulled up to our camping spot , threw his bike into the pickup, and drove off. I was livid. A kid's bike for goodness sake. What good was it to anyone but a midget. I still get angry just writing about it. It was his first. A Christmas present from mom.

An Irish toast for you all:

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been,
The foresight to know where you are going,
And the insight to know when you have gone too far.

When the way comes to an end, then change. Having changed, you pass through.

2 oz light rum
2 oz dark rum
2 oz passion fruit juice
1 oz orange juice
juice of a half a lime
1 Tbsp simple syrup
1 Tbsp grenadine
orange slice and cherry for garnish

Preparation:
Squeeze juice from half a lime into shaker over ice.
Pour the remaining ingredients into the c-cktail shaker.
Shake well.
Strain into a hurricane glass.
Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.

Ugh...for myself, I think I'll just splash a little more JD into my glass.

SKOL!

My wife and I had 2 each of those at Pat O'Briens in New Orleans a few years back....WOW
They knocked us on our butts! My wife passed out in a McDonalds bathroom. And to top that I got something to eat there! Can you imagine in New Orleans and I ate at McDonalds and damb it was good. Little did I know while I was throwing back an order of fries my wife was asleep on the bathroom floor.
That sure made our trip memorable...
