I am sorry to hear that this war has come to your neighborhood, horrible. This sort of thing is highly traumatic and it is important for people to tell their stories and be heard.

This is a terrible thing to experience and no doubt you and all of your neighbors will be affected by this for a long time. Listening to each other tell their stories is useful for every ones healing. Our good thoughts and wishes are with you amigo. God bless the children who are exposed to this sort of thing, they have few defenses against the horror of it. We all must do what we can to respectfully listen to these stories and be part of the solution to the trauma. Listening helps. This we can and must do.

Foget that it only happens in TJ or Juarez and only in the narco neighborhoods- it is now happening everywhere. That's the saddest part. Time for another xanax.

There may be something to be said for JR's "Gringo Enclaves". (sorry JR if I spelled it wrong.) He might be all for them now.

Wooosh, take a vacation for the Christmas/New year's holiday.

Hi Woody.... Suppose that could also be stated as: "IS anyone nuts enough to say this to the cops?"

Hang in there Woosh.... I hope you'll also enjoy the magic of life / birth there too!

Will let you know. We haven't had any ultrasound or xrays done to see how many. The male is White, 11 months old and 110 pounds- the female is Black, one and a half years old and 75 pounds- so these are big labs. Both are AKC from champ lines. I wasn't planning on breeding them this soon- but they had other plans. We joke that our "Guero" is a typical mexican macho boy- now with children of his own. Whatever they are- they won't be AKC registered as they wiill be baja-born. Is there a MKC?

Here's my take. El Teo is working his way up the coast to Ensenada and the street fighting between the AFO factions is getting closer. El Teo isn't shy. His entourage (four black suburbans) were in Rosarito and El Teo walked into Macho Taco with a full glass of Tequila in his hands. The door men saw the bodyguards with him and decided not to enforce the house rules.

The dead guys was named Chato and he was a security gurad at Papas and Beer. He was a bad guy. They followed him from his home to the beach as he went for his morning run, and then gunned him down. My nephew talked with a guy who was riding his bike and talking with Chato this morning as he walked down the street towards the beach. The guy on the bike got a bad feeling about a truck behind them and dediced to bike on ahead. He was 100 meters away when the guy got gunned down.

No one is saying this is the police. What I was saying was that you don't know which police to confide in. If you expose your hand to the wrong people (including a corrupt policeman) you could be next. Until people have someone they can trust to call- they won't pick up the phone to call anyone- and the cycle continues. Right Schultz?

Woooosh----------Wow, you DO have a unique problem, I see. My flippant remark about helping the Police appears to be out-of-line in this case.

My condolences------------we certainly hope this whole mess/situations ends soon.

The surfers came back to thier VW bug when the police arrived. The waves were good- but they opted not to stick around. I told them they are already here and they should just go out in the water and enjoy themselves- but they bailed. They'll be back today no doubt.

The pups will be here mid-week I am guessing. No, we are not going to have the dam/sire spayed/nuetered until our friends and family are all labbed-up. A horseman friend wants to trade a puppy for a horse. I think it would be great to give him one- so I could see it go by twice a day on the beach with all the horses.

Yes, there are plenty of unwanted dogs in Mexico, but there's never too many purebred labs. Even Mexcian children who scream and run away from all dogs- eventually settle down enough to let lab-love take over. If Mexicans had more labs- they'd be less afraid of dogs in general and nicer to animals overall.

Do you think it is the mexican nationals who shy away from communications with the police, or both nationals and foreigners?

Lab pups are so cute, I love to kiss their warm round bellies! Post a picture of them when they make their debut....

Cartel Police Reporting 101 Class: If they think you saw them and you do not get away fast you dead, If they think you know something that might even make the smoke float toward them you are dead, If they think you give information to police and they pay well to police rats that point the finger right back at you then you are dead, If they think you smile or frowned like you disapproved of what they did you are dead, Oh what the hell if you were anywhere in sight, sound, or smell then you are dead not fair tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad. Now, if the police want to find out they have hoses and baking soad enough to get rats to talk fast and nobody likes choking on their own no I not going to go that deep into this class as it is on Class 101. Do not be making yourself too know about knowing or thinking anything in the climate of kill and kill again, my thoughts and prayers are with you. This crap just stinks no matter how you stir it and it is a very serious and deadly run by these gangs make no mistake about that:!:. Later, bajafun777

OK gnukid, what world are you looking through in those "rose color glasses?" Police Chiefs, Police Officers, Military officers, Politicians, etc. are getting dropped liked flies. This is not the U.S.A. and if it was then I would tell these people report away. I know they would not have the issue of the bad guys finding out before they got back home from a light lunch to find death waiting for them. The situation in Mexico has had people give what they thought was information in secret and later their families found them dead. It is easy to tell someone to put their life and their other loved ones lives in jeapordy and then say "Damn it is too bad they got killed, that just wasn't right." The system as it is right now in Mexico is real tough for anyone to function without risk. These people living in the community do not have weapons to protect themselves and even if they did it would be no match for an AK-47. I have personally seen what this weapon can do. Mexicali had two of its trained officers lives taken out by a group that had been setting them up succeeded in shooting the hell out of their vehicle. This weapon just rips the hell out of things and people will die when it is turned loose on someone. Now, you can live in your dream about what is happening in a corrupt system that has what is suppose to be good guys being with the actual bad guys. I would not advise a Nomad to take that chance with the way things are right now. They and I are not the problem Mexico is experiencing. What Mexico is experiencing is a lot deeper and it is all the way through their government officials, police, federal, state, local and even their military.
Yea, so if you find out something you think might get one of these Cartel members arrested go for it just don't adive others with no defense to do so. To advise someone living in Mexico especially an American or Canadian you put them in terrible risk. I use to think like you on this reporting thing but I know how bad it really is. I do not have dreams of any kind of law enforcement group in Mexico being free of not giving out information that can get you and your family members with you dead. I will not tell anyone to step forward the way things are now, as they are unprotected and at total risk in Mexico even if they call it in or email information from some cyber cafe. So, I guess we will agree to agree to disagree on this one, as I have personally seen the way it is, which is not a pretty sight. Later---------bajafun777

You're right - I'll re-post it (thank you)

[Edited on 12-14-2008 by Katiejay99]

Re-post:
I concur with both sides of the "to report anonymously or not to do it". Based on a personal experience 3 yrs ago and going through the anonymous email process to Mexico City, the drug guy was arrested and is still in jail. The only thing is that the local street guys new about the email within 2 days of it being sent.
