You are right it's better to stick with the local market,,(BAJA IT'S), just don't open your wounds before the old ones heal 100%

Do they ever heal %100?
If you don't love them deeply enough for it to leave a mark then you didn't do it right!
But I think I have picked up all the pieces of mi corazon roto and the super glue is dry. So I'm ready again.

I did the ferry ride from La Paz to Mazatlan about 13 years ago, it was in August and there were lots of men (skilled laborers) going home to their families before the summer heat hit Cabo. I think I was the only single, gringa, female on the boat, so I had a lot of company for the all night cruise! There was a bar and disco, but also nice just to be outside in the night air. There was a party going on, but I snuck off in the middle of it to grab some sleep with the families inside.
It was after that trip which took me by bus to Tepic, Manzanillo, Puerto Villarta, Acupulco, and Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, that I decided I would stick with my 'catch' from Cabo. I don't know who caught the big one that summer, but we're still together...11 years of matromony!

Hope you do as well on your fishing trip, fishbuck. Maybe she'll swallow the hook! Saludos, Heather

Mood: Want to fish!!!

[*] posted on 12-19-2008 at 12:38 PM

Never give up Fishbuck. From my first surf trip to Baja in 1973, to my wedding in 2007 at Quintas Papagayos in Ensenada, I was always in the hunt. My "Doctora Bonita", also known as Dra. Pescadora, took the better part of 25 years to find. I'll be 50 in February, and a father in July!!! Imagine a beautiful Latina doctor that loves to fish!!! She was hiding in Ensenada the whole time!!! There is a bar three doors up from Anthony's, named Tequila"s. The owners son, Roman, intro'd us. His wife went to medical school with mine. Forget the internet, a casual friend probably has the key to bliss for you. Oh, she has a very pretty sister, single, in Ensenada. I live in Orange, maybe a intro could happen???

I thought about flying myself down which would be fun. But you just can't beat the airlines. About $500/airlines vrs. about $1000/private. And the airlines use jets so speed wise it's no contest.
And yes personal social referals are always the best. But I haven't developed many of thse in baja yet so the internet get's me in the game. And it's fun and exciting too.
But I'll take all the help I can get! ;)

FB,
In case you change your mind and decide to drive down the mainland, it might interest you to know that the new "costera" between El Golfo de Sta. Clara and Rocky Point is now open. It cuts quite a bit off the Sonoita route if coming from CA. I haven't been yet but the local Spanish paper showed the Sonora guv et al at the "inauguration" this week. Looks nice, no white knuckles like Mex 1, asphalt 12 meters wide with 3.5M per lane with a 2.5M apron on each shoulder, 133 Km. They are also paving a new road from El Golfo to the new POE in San Luis which will cut maybe 45 min. off that leg.

All my childhood I wanted to be older. Now I\'m older and this chitn sucks.
