Holding on to stereotypes and making those presumptions a tenet for one's philosophy is to limit the possibilities of what could be. There are
wonderful people everywhere and many look different than you.
Sometimes, exposure to different cultures and experiencing them with open minds can turn one's head around.
It sounds like these people in Crested Butte opened up their hearts and Ol' Skeet had an epiphany.

Somebody here said something like that about Margaritaville the other day. Think it was Cypress. Very deep stuff coming out of you guys lately....no
reference to the outhouses above.

Couple of happy hipsters at the annual chili cook-off in Mulege. Hustling chili, corn muffins (nothing Alice B. tho) and shooting up Patron only.
Pretty harmless at 60.

I grew up in the 60"s ( in Ojai) and will always remember Dear Abbey's definition of a hippy..." Someone who dresses like a Joe, looks like a
Jane....and smells like a John!" loved it... but did not agree...we smelled more like cheap mexican herb....
Mexico!! Where two can live as cheaply as one.....but it costs twice as much.....

Had a great time, met some great People at Crested Butte. Hope to go back soon and just noticed in the news that the top Place to live is Louisville
Colo.
38 years in Baja is hard to beat. The Texas Panhandle has the Best Weather, and Colo has the Best Fishing{Fresh water, that is}.

My mom lives in Eagle. She was born there. Both my grandparents were born there.
But I kinda hate the place now.
When I go to visit her I get out of town and up into the mountains as quick as I can.
Only problem is that the town keeps getting farther up into the mountains.
Rich a-holes are buying everything up and putting up big berms along the road that blocks the view.
Pretty soon it won't even seem like the pristine mountains it use to be.
It sucks!

since this thread started about 50 year old hippies, I'd like to add a couple local events that would be of interest to said topic----
http://www.fairycongress.com/archives/archives.htm
portion of mission statement---
"The Fairy & Human Relations Congress affects the planet by joining with the nature, devic and other higher realms to bring more peace, love and
understanding into the world. Our goal is not to escape the outer world but to positively affect it. "
http://www.okanoganfamilyfaire.net/
You haven't experienced barterfaire until you've seen the nymph in gauze sprinkling fairy dust on all good people.....
or the full torso body painting....on women.... parading
their artwork.
Almost did the body art, but outside temps were around 50F.....too cold for these headlights!
These gatherings may be of interest to 50 year old hippies in the northwest USA and southwest Canada.
