Don Gus? Jeezo. Trying to scare her, Skeet?

My personal itinerary would be Jardines de Baja in San Quintin. Wonderful folks run it. Beautiful grounds. Great restaurant. In Guerreo Negro, either Cowboy, Caracoles, or Malarrimo. Won't go wrong with any of them. Loreto fave of mine is Hacienda Suites, although I know many on this forum will jump on me for that one. Hacienda Suites is first class, very much up to US standards, has a great retsaurant next door- Domingo's, and suffers from one glaring problem. It's nowhere near the historic district or the water.

If I kissed you my friend you would never be the Same, and if I took you Dancin you would be mine for LIFE!!!

The Don Gus is not Expensive.
If you do want a good Meal in Loreto the very best place is Domingo's.
Ask him to bring you a fresh Pepper with your Meal. He will bring you one of the Pepper Plants I gave him!!You can Pick you own.

Hi KissMe - Most of the Nomads throughout this site are wonderful, fun people with lots of seriously good advice.

Which border are you planning to cross? Mulegemichael and I always, and I mean always cross at Tecate, sleepy guards, easy, no hassle, ever. OK, maybe someone, somewhere has had a hassle, but we have never had one.

Early mornings can be brisk, so bring a fleece. Have a wonderful time. Bring a super good camera, USB cord to your 'puter, cause you will be shooting tons of photos to send back home. Be sure to hydrate (not just with cervezas). Send your trip plan to someone you trust. Most of all, just have a blast!

Hey Beachgirl, yes Tecate seemed like the best one - so I guess thats the one we'll take. My friend lived in Oaxaca for 5 years - she worked in an Irish pub there (!!) and so speaks the lingo and knows how do deal with the sort of things im terrified of !! Though she did say that last time she went to Baja it was pretty backward compared with the mainland !!

I guess i'll soon find out !

I've just read Surfer jim's 'Would you join again' thread :biggrin:

The guy's gotta point you know !!

I join the forum last night and within an hour am told to write 'DO ME' down the side of my car by a 'SELECT' nomad, quickly followed by rousing applause from an ELITE and then an ULTRA nomad...and I only asked if Baja was safe for a single woman !!

Long live travel, truth and kindness !

this 'SELECT' nomad is lifeless (that's obvious!) & just wasting bandwidth. Time & time & time again.
Wish you the fantastic voyage you will experience!! (the 'backwardness' of Baja is what alot of us love!!)
all the best Carolyn

Kissme, most of the advise here has been very good - I think you can sort out the ones to not pay much attention to. Have a great time and check with Mike and Roz in Mulege - lots of great folks there, some of who don't often participate on this board who are, however, longtime Baja residents and great people.

Carolyn, you might wanna rethink how you jumped in. Why not start over with something like Bajacarolyn, leave your commercial venture as a separate piece of business. The world is full of ****s and princesses, heroins and wastrels. You gave very little latitude on your first post and you know it --- how could we know about or care about your commercial life/business. Spend a few minutes using the search function and see how we usually respond to new people who post here with names like Bajaharold, or Bajajulie.

Good point.
As I am often reminded (by Mrs Diver);
It is other's perceptions of your words/actions that matter, despite your/my intentions to the contrary.

Or on the other hand; who cares what the heck others think ?? :cool: :P

If it were me;
1. Get auto insurance and FMT
2. Cross at Tecate' in the morning
3. Stop at Jardines in San Quinton or BajaCactus in El Rosario
4. Stop in Mulege' - take up Mike and Ros on their generous offer
5. Do not travel at night
6. Use pesos from ATM machines for gas
7. Use common sense
8. Let BajaNomads know if you need help on the road;
you will then see the "real" BajaNomads

freakin' unbelievable.
The world's also full of truly wannabe fictional writers but we let them be ... we don't question them when they simply want pertinent information / insight into BAJA!! Isn't that what the forum is for??
I can appreciate that Ribera is an uneventual &^ithole ... but get a LIFE!!

From the horse's mouth, so to speak.

And you've gotta admit, Dennis' suggestion was funny and was what about 90% of the people first thought when they read your post.

And I don't know what to say about Skeeter - ever since he got that bi-pass all he talks about is dancing - and I don't think he means tripping the light fantastic if you get my drift.....

Baja is very different from much of the mainland, but then again Mexico is a very diverse country.

Do have a fun and safe trip--while we have a home in Baja, for travel,we prefer the mainland. But, there are great things to see and do in Baja.

Yeah, we're all pretty immature. but you seem to handle it well!! Let us know how your trip went.
Take a cooler to stock with drinks and ice. Be sure to get some fish tacos in Ensenada and Guerrero Negro; tamales at the big gas station on the highway near Jesus Maria. You're taking a good map, right?

Well, I didn't intend to ruffle your feathers quite as much as I did. I'm sorry for that but, I had a difficult time with your sincerity.
That said, allow me to give you some free advice. Baja is no place for a young lady alone if she exudes as much sexual innuendo as you. Flirtatious behavior will lead to nothing but trouble for you, possibly tragic.
I suggest you keep that in mind.

Have a great, safe trip.
