I was just kiddin' around. I know what WD 40 is. I use it all the time. I use it to:
Wash the dogs
Wash my hair
In the shower instead of soap
Put it in my Bloody Marys
In the kitchen instead of PAM
On salads
Inside the computer around the hard drive
On the small batteries in my TV and other remotes
On my teeth and bridges
On printer cartridges
On marker pen tips
Clean my camera and binoculars and the lenses
Kill aphids and cut worms
In the hummingbird feeders
On the bird seed in the bird feeders
Keep my CDs clean and shiny
All hinges once a day (takes me about 3 hours)
And so much more
I just love the stuff.

WD-40. Who knew? I had a neighbor who had bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all
around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason). I went over, woke him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying
to figure out what to do probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was open. Another neighbor came out and told him to get his WD-40 and
clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm his paint job that was on the truck. I'm impressed!
WD-40 who knew? 'Water Displacement #40' The product began from a search For a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts.
WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket
Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a water displacement' compound.. They were successful with the fortieth
formulation, thus WD-40. The Convair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.
Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40
that would hurt you. When you read the ' shower door' part, try it. It's
the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours
is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! Then try it
on your stove top ... Viola! It's now shinier than it's ever been.
You'll be amazed.
Here are some other uses:_
1. Protects silver from tarnishing.*

finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as Hard to get them off.
Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks.*

I heard a rumorWD-40 was never patented which enabled them to keep the formula secret.
Anyone care to google this?

Where am I?
I was in hiding becuase I knew that I need to pay up on the prize. It will cost me a lot but I try and man up on my debts. Do you think I can get
away with somewhere between 4-6 beers if our paths ever cross? Is that a fair amount as 40 (as in WD-40) might be entertaining to watch someone try
but would not recommend it.

Thank you all for replying. The responses were overwhelming...virtually a list of hall of fame nomads! After I posted, no one responded within 10
minutos so I soaked all tackle in sulfuric acid (i got from the cartels) and it disappeared! Oh well off to our new tackle shop...yipee!
You are right about the split ring pliers and I did stick myself pretty good just hosing them down with WD-40. I'm thinking of having my wife work on
them...maybe she'll get lockjaw...I can only hope!
I have new hooks ready to go but without those split ring pliers... didn't I say I'm lazy. I will get some salt-ex, that sounds like the least
amount of work.
Soulpatch I will be there in May not June-too freeeekin hot for this redhead.
Let's go fishin!!

I remember using it on the Atlas missile skin at Convair plant 1in 1956, before it became Convair Astronautics and moved to Kearney Mesa. It made it
very slippery

fueled story behind it?
That's what I would do, but then again my lineage is from the rejects of Europe.....Irish and Italian.
Don't we, as casual fishermen, have a DUTY to tell complete and utter bullpuckey stories about the fish we didn't catch? |
I think duty is involved. Bullpucky is also involved. I need to work on my stories and do a little more photoshop computer action to verify.
Beer is not part of my stories though. Usually wine and tequila... which are a perfect compliment to each other.
And I will not be hanging my lures on a rafter and have the rest of you losers come over and replace my rusty hooks

Throw some rice (uncooked) in each compartment. That, and rinsing in fresh water when you remember, will really cut down on corrosion. The rice acts
like a sponge. Change it when you clean and reorganize (???) your tackle. You do clean and reorganize, don't you?

I was warned against ever getting any petroleum products on fishing gear. I worked on both salmon and halibut commercial boats in Alaska and skippers
said "don't get any oil or grease on the fishing gear"
WD-40 is a petroleum product but also a confirmed fish attractant? I'm getting mixed messages.
