Jorge, I'm down for a few days to put some more bars on my windows, maybe we can get together for a beer and I'll tell you everything that's wrong with Mexico....again. I know you were thinking of me when you wrote "bad gringo"......dt

No, far from it DT. You are my idea for another catagory I sadly omitted: Ambassadors. You are near the top of the list of scores of Nomads who go out of their way to be good ambassadors every chance they get.

The short list of "bads" pales to an uncountable minus number when compared to the gringos who come down here and cannot leave their unselfish care-giver's spirits at the border. I see you as one of those and thank God you need only run the list of Nomad members to see that the "bad" guys I tried to paint are lost in the magic mist of good fellowship shown by the hosts of others.

This village policeman boasts a huge beer belly and a loud and ruthless laugh. He is married with 4 kids at home. He has fathered 4 others in the village – he forgets their names. His oldest son, age 16, has dropped out of school to sell drugs. The son allows his father a discount; the father protects the son from the real law. He delights in following one immutable Mexican law – he plays his radio/boombox at max volume.
