Speaking of San Francisquito old-timers, anybody remember this photo, hanging in the bar, of the original owners Leonard Martinez and Rudy Vallodolid?
Rudy was Genaro's dad:

It hung in the bar for a long time. I think it was gone the last time I was there, which was about 6 years ago.

okay,, maybe I had to many when I was at the bar, but it still is not coming back to me,,
we only went over to the bar one afternoon,, rest of the time we spent at Jacks place, which was at the fish camp, jack had an Airstream trailer and
he had built next to it , block banos and a big room that I sleep in, also used for storage

Picture
Here is Genero standing in front of the picture about 20 years ago.
There were many interesting photos on the wall including thousands of business cards left by visitors. The bar was open to the weather so nothing
lasted too long.

The plot thickens into some good PSFO history!! Here's a picture I took in July of 1980. Note that the picture of Leonard and Rudy is NOT there. So
desertcpl, it might not be the margaritas!! BTW the pretty lady in front of the bar, facing me, is mi esposa.
carpe diem!

When I was the manager of an irrigation store back in 1980-82, in La Mesa... Someone from Punta San Francisquito Resort bought a drip irrigation
system for watering the landscape around some of the casas down there.

David that was probably for either Leonard's or Rudy's house. They built beautiful homes at both ends of the beach, one on the north point and one on
the south point. They were both built at about the same time.

Ken - that picture of the resort founders evoked strong memories!
and yes it hung there for a long time but it has been gone for over a dozen years. possibly the COOLEST photo i have ever seen in mexico - Genaro used
to point at it and say that's my Dad and Uncle, with gleaming pride!
you might recall that about 12 or more years ago all the bar pics and memorabilia was taken down to bare walls - i was devastated when we showed up
with clients shortly after they did that and i wanted to show it off to my friends with us.
Genaro was not there that weekend and Pepe had no explanation except that they were going to "change" and "remodel" the place!! whaaaaat????????? were
they thinking????????
i think it all got boxed up and taken to the states due to a scquabble amongst the owners.
remember the pics of those HUGH black sea bass taken by spear off Lorenzo??!! man those were the days. i think i have it all on vid i need to get
the beta to El Camote for editing.
i think i'll do that next week - i want to post it on Vimeo for you.

Was there a week ago and there are a few new photos in the kitchen. But all of the pictures in there are gone. Even the picture that were there last
November. They are working on the Shower on the mens side.

Anyway, a couple of people I ran into remember you Ken. One was Jose, a shark fisherman. When asked he said "Do you mean the Ken senior or the Ken
junior?". I replied Ken junior of course knowing how touchy we get about our age after 50 (ha, ha). Told me you haven't been to PSFO in almost 15
years.

Curt, are you the same fella we ran into on that dusty road to PSFO about a month ago (near the turnoff to Las Animas)? The guy that gave us a
Kastmaster in exchange for a halibut back in January? You had an old dog that loved PSFO and I asked you "How do you know".
If so, then we can finally exchange emails as we intended, but never did.

Dang!
You shoulda told me. We didn't even know what to do with this one. Back he went.
The one we ate just before this one, though, was real good. I didn't appreciate how good halibut sashimi is until that fish. The flesh was so soft it
was falling apart as I cleaned it. Soft meat makes good sashimi, I've decided.
