In unverified reports, it was stated the girl was bailed out by Toyota after it was revealed that she was driving a Prius whose floormats were not properly attached by the two connectors at the factory, the mat slid forward and accelerated her vehicle while the car failed to stop. In a related story it was also reported the so called victim was not actually a policeman nor was he injured, but was simply a con man attempting to shake down people for money.

And that's the whole story

I knew it. It had to be Toyota related. She probably was at a car wash and they didn't attach the mats correctly. And everybody thought this was the end for this poor little girl.

Damn! I was all set to go to TJ and rescue her. ;) I'm sure it would have been a relief to ride in my F150 rather than a Toyota. However, I was not quick enough. I should have known that she could have talked her way out of, or into just about anything. :saint::smug: Not ALL people are created equal!

I didn't think that in Mexico there was a bail system. I thought you were guilty until proven innocent or else just paid for all the damages. If the guy taken to the hospital had all his bills paid, then would she have been free to leave the country? The story, so far, has just been sensationalism to print or tell on TV regardless of all the truthful details. Such is "news" reporting these days. Pitiful.

Yeah, right. So drug cartel member who has illicitly sold drugs, robbed people, etc., if arrested, can simply pay back a bunch of money and he is free....

Hmmm, maybe So!

He's talking about a "bail" system. Bail only applies to those arrested for crimes. Think ...

With some perspective it is now clear that there were no verified facts about this report, while I do not doubt that someone was accosted and went to jail for a short time, there is no evidence provided of an accident nor of a policeman with injuries. None. The only verifiable thing is that there is a possibly a 'reporter' named Antonio Castelan who doesn't do his research and there is a media outlet named SignonSanDiego who fails to verify stories and others on border forum's such as BajaNomads who are guilty of group think and fail to think for themselves.

Now there has been no followup on SignonSanDiego? Yet there was a TV story that the woman was released, if she had in fact been in an accident where she ran over a policeman and was drunk she would not have been released. She has called out everyone who was so quick to believe the false story.

Moreover, I would like to point out each of you Nomads who jumped on board to condemn someone without any facts, which now has been revealed to be a series of false accusations without merit, while that was quite obvious to even the casual reader. You must re-evaluate your ability to discern fact from news reports.

Still I would bet that even now, many of you would fail to see the agenda in the media story, fail to see the lack of facts and fail to remember this when it occurs again by the same author later this week.

Not only is there clear disinformation in the media outlet, which is evidence of a lack of credibility, there is further evidence of mass human willingness to assist in the repetition of mindless messages by know-nothing arrogant, I feel superior, vessels such as yourselves.

With retrospect one could say, oh gosh what a mistake! too bad! But that isn't the case. This report and your reactions by those who posted condemnation demonstrates the human trait of people to be willing to give up their reasoning ability if they are made to feel superior while condemning another whether falsely or based on race etc...

This tendency, known as the "Third Wave" syndrome after an experiment by Ron Jones in Palo Alto is the same human failure exploited over time to justify horrific atrocities such as Eugenics, Genocide, N-zi Camps etc...

Consider this example, this clear case of disinfo well perpetrated across media as a wakeup call, you, who posted condemnations above must be more critical, self-critical, and be willing to consider the source, the agenda and be cautious in your urge to jump on board condemning another with no evidence nor fair court trial provided.
