It often is best to start at the beginning! The who, what, when, where, and why parts may have been covered... but maybe a why for you personally
would be interesting!
I suggest starting a new thread for any more additions or other's reports, as the volume of maps and photos in this one are making it slow to open.
I will post a link here to the next installment of my trip report, which will be 'The Discovery'! I hope you, bajalou and BajaCat get more added
today... and where is Phil, stuck in the kitchen of his cajun restaurant in SLO?

I am happy for all of you Indiana Jones that did this run.
Looks like BajaLou was out pacing the group there......what a swell guy he is.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Like Elbeau, I, too, anxiously await the results of trip I had really wanted to go on. Looking at the map again, and coming from Palm Springs, I think
it would have been both fun and about the same distance to join Lou in San Felipe and come up the Gonzaga route.

How about...."There I was, on the verge of the grandest adventure of my life ! I wasn't sure my chicken legs would carry me over the torturous
terrain of Baja, but I knew that I would survive as I had my desert survival hat....you know....the cute one with a skirt on it...."
  
That looks like a great area to explore. I rode into the school area in 1989 and looked around. But, as you know me well enough, I didn't bother to
hike around.
It's good to see you getting out and about.
