This is shaping up to be one tough race. The course up the summit is new, just graded, steep and with little areas for cars to pass. They re-graded it
last week but still a bottle neck. The section from Uruapan to the hwy near Ojos Negros is as bad as ever. SCORE is allowing 23 hours to complete the
race which is less than a 20mph average, usually they base it on a 25mph average. Good luck to those racing.
14) The race will START and FINISH in front of the Riviera Convention Center on Boulevard Costero.
15) Motorcycles and ATV classes will report to staging at 5:30AM for a 6:00AM start and will start one every 30 seconds
in the following order - 22, 21, 30, 40, 50, 60, 25, 24, SPTMOTO>, SPTMOTO<, SPTATV, 26.
16) There will be at least a full three hour gap between the last ATV starter and the first Trophy Truck starter.
17) Four Wheel Vehicles will report to staging at 9:00AM for a 10:00AM start and will start one every 30 seconds in the
following order - TT, 1, 10, SL, 8, 1/2-1600, PT, 4, 5, 6, 7/2, 7, 7SX, 2D, 5-1600, 3, SF, SPTK, SPBG, 11, SPUTV.
18) FOUR WHEEL STAGING TIMES - TT(9:00AM), 1(9:05AM), 10(9:10AM), SL(9:15AM), 8(9:20AM), 1/2-1600(9:25AM),
PT(9:30AM), 4(9:35AM), 5(9:40AM), 6(9:45AM), 7/2(9:50AM), 7(9:55AM), 7SX(10:00AM), 2D(10:05AM), 5-1600(10:10AM),
3(10:15AM), SF(10:20AM), SPTK(10:25AM), SPBG(10:30AM), 11(10:35AM), SPUTV(10:40AM).
19) All classes will have 23 HOURS / (19.7 MPH AVERAGE) from their designated start time to complete the race.
20) Checkpoint closing times are as follows:
CHECKPOINT 1 - SANTA CATARINA GATE / MILE 92.30 / SATURDAY @ 11:00PM.
CHECKPOINT 2 - AFTER BORREGO PITS / MILE 211.89 / SUNDAY @ 5:00AM.
CHECKPOINT 3 - NORTHWEST OF COLONET / MILE 318.20 / SUNDAY @ 7:00AM.
CHECKPOINT 4 - WEST OF OJOS NEGROS / MILE 411.98 / SUNDAY @ 9:00 AM.

A fresher Kendall Norman spent the last 40 miles snipping off a 3-4 minute deficit from Colton Udall and literally reeled Colton's 0x Bike in on the
last 1000 yards of pavement...They crossed the finish line at the same moment...Colton wins by :30 (unofficial)

Bad wreck between a #71 prerunner and local Toyota car about 5 miles west of Borrego yesterday. Several people hurt bad.
Here is one report:
.....It looked like they (pre-runner) was trying to come in off
> course and hop on highway and clipped the car, drove up and over the car and
> launched airborne and landed on the other side of the highway on the
> passenger side with the front facing east. I am ONLY GUESSING this though.

We watched the cars and trucks leave and it is absolutely amazing no one is killed. People way too close to the edge and wrong side of turn. When the
Trophy Trucks rounded the corner at Lopez Mateos a couple spun out, people running everywhere as the trucks regained control. One ran down left side
to wash entrance and either clipped a little kid or threw up a rock or something that hit him. Ambulance arrive soon to treat the kid. There may have
been others hurt too.
Same location on the return, TTs rounding corner back to finish people scattered as the trucks cross to far side crub hot on the gas.

My boyfriend watched it somewhere north of Santo Tomas and he said there were lots of bad accidents. He said he has videos on his iphone, not sure if
they are accidents or racing. If they are good enough quality I'll post them later.

Well, this is sad for sure... Perhaps starting and finishing the race in the middle of Ensenada will need to be re-thought? It was started and/or
finished out of town (Ojos Negros) in the past due to flooding (the 1000).
Looking forward to the photos and reports...

Yes sad. but changing the start probably would not help. One of the worst accidents happened when Johnson's chase truck and another car had a
head-on on hwy 3 in the middle of nowhere. Another one when a car was coming down the wrong way on the track and took out a motorcycle.
