That's true Mike
I don't know about San Ignacio but Mulege has a really good mechanic and the best mechanic I have ever heard of is in El Centenario.

Mexican Mechanics
I've had extensive auto repairs made just about everywhere in Baja, particularly in San Ignacio, Muleje, Guerrero Negro, Bajia de Los Angeles and
Catavina. No one could have more trust in local talents than I have. But, with respect to rebuilding my entire engine in San Ignacio, the first of
several mechanics I asked told me he could put a used engine in for me but he would not recommend rebuilding it in such a small town.
What we're going to do is haul it from San Ignacio north and stop in any village that is large enough to do a replace or rebuild job. Ricardo, from
Rice and Beans in San Ignacio, personally looked in a number of junk yards and called between TJ, Ensenada, Mexicali for a couple of months looking
for this particular motor without any luck. If you ever need a helping hand, Ricardo's your man in Baja California Sur.

Thanks,
I'll wait and see what happens before we get to her place. If I haven't found anything by then I'll get ahold of her.

Some Japanese parts can be tricky to find and you might not be able to find them in Mexico.

Cheap Towbar
Mike,------ Redding, CA is a small town and the RV/Trailer supply is only 4 blocks from my house-----I just went down there and the Towbar that I have
costs new $159 = tax. (that is $59 more than I paid 4 years ago). It comes with the Brackets, is rated for 5000 lbs. towing capacity, and is made by
"EZ lift". FULTON makes an identical one for about the same price. The Brackets could be fitted to your frame by any good Mexican metal fabricator,
and all Mexican metal frabricators are good, in my experience. To make sure it could be done, ask the Service Manager at your local Isuzu dealer and
he should be able to tell you the feasibility of the project.
I cannot believe the outrageous prices being quoted to you on towbars. They are total rip-offs.
Good Luck, Barry

That was Camping World, although I called one other place. The reason I went with the flatbed was to avoid unsolvable problems when I got down there
in mounting the towbar. I was told the Isuzu (1998) wouldn't support its own weight! - ???
Anyway, I can use the flatbed for other things too so it's a done deal, electric brakes and all. Figure I might need them travelling north between El
Progresso and El Rosario.
Thanks again for all the info.
Come On Doooooowwwwnnn!
